I was going to work today stopped traffic, right in front of a speed bump. I pulled my handbrake up and forgot to put it down the car was struggling to move and wouldn't go over the bump so i put the gas down and ot finally did and carried on driving for a total of 1 minute o belive, i was so tired and clumsy in the morning. Has this done any damage to my car? |

It won't have stretched your cable, wont have flat spotted your tyres unless they were locked and smoke coming off them, won't have done any damage to clutch unles you were slipping it all the time. The only damage it might have done would have been got the brakes warm and maybe worn them a little. |

I have done it a few times, when I Learnt to drive a few years ago I was taught clutch control at traffic lights etc so very rare I actually use the handbrake....I wouldn't recommend it but have driven longer than à minute with handbrake on and never had any problems!

You was taught to slip your clutch at traffic lights. Me or my mates will be giving you a nice big bill soon. Tip of the day brake pads or shoes are much cheaper than clutches. Forget what you was taught and use your hand brake. It's what it was made for |

I;d be more worried about the potential for an accident if you are driving so tired this happened rather than worrying about the damage to your car |

1 minute :
No damage at all ;
If you had driven 50 miles down the motorway at 70, then yes, you could have burned out your brake pads and overheated and warped your discs. ( or brake shoes and drums, depending on your car). |

Yes!!!!!
You're car is totalled now. Best thing to do is take it to the scrappy and go and buy a new one. |
