Making Sunday roast, lovely piece of beef, brocolli, cabbage, gravy - BUT can't have spuds or Yorkshire puddings! Will enjoy it and keep thinking of the weight we're losing! Make me jealous, who's having the full monty? Z

No carbs then zoe?? My diet is mainly protein or carbs you can choose one or the other. Can have small amount of carbs if doing protein but i dont bother. Sounds a lovely dinner and would have been exactly what i would of had on slimming world. Keep it up and all those tiny clothes you will be able to get into come summer

We're on the Atkins Katie, so no carbs - doing well but you just miss certain things occasionally! I make fantastic Yorkshires too! But, as you said Diamond the lunch will be lovely anyway, could also murder a glass of wine! Z

Oh I would never do atkins.. lol I lose 2-3 pounds most week.. I exclude nothing.. not chocolate, wine nothing..

Come down from a 26-18 and recently found that 18s are getting a bit big...

I think diets that exclude things make you want them more.. plus carbs are needed.. in small amounts, same as fats..

Good luck with it.

We're eating really nice food and feel great! I've lost a stone in a just over a month - we're having a break at the end of next week as we agree that you start to crave stuff and life's too short to deny yourselves too much for too long! Well done though, I bet you feel wonderful! Z

well I decided to up the anti this last week and did the cabbage soup diet..and have ended up ill..

I know the atkins diet works to loose weight short term.. I just for me anyway think it has to many risks...

I have always followed weight watchers just because it excludes nothing.. I do put in a lot of exercise too though...

I couldnt have anything excluded...

Different diets or weight loss programmes suit different people though. Katie says she does weight watchers, my mum did weight watchers, i couldnt bloody stand it. I do slimming world it works for me. One of my friends does the cambridge diet Yuk but it works for her. The key is finding what suits your individual wants and needs

I tried slimming world.. put on over half a stone.. simply because I hated the restrictions..

I couldnt be doing with the red and green days.. I like to eat a healthy balanced meal.. for me that has to include everything. I like pasta too.. which makes it hard on a lot of diets.. so yes its about what works for you...

I found ww easy,.... although the new one while better I find more confusing.. I would always decide wanted to spend my points on.. for instance Jacket spud, salad and tuna. or a mars bar.. Normally the Jacket spud meal won, but I had the option.

we have points but i rarely use them. In fact i seem to be eating less and less between meals except fruit. Think my body now craves healthy food

Which does mean hopefully at the end of it i wont go back to my old ways.

I keep saying to myself the longest road started with one small step

Aw thanks, it just creeps up on you! We wanted a quick results diet, and we're still eating the veg and fruit that are low carb - had jelly and cream for desert so we can have treats too! I think that some people thnk that all you can eat is meat and chicken but there is much more to it than that! Cutting out bread, biscuits, cake etc can't be bad for you! Thanks for telling me about some of the mouth watering meals that you're having, they all sound divine! Z

lol - why will be be dead? We're having a balanced diet, just a minimum of carbs and no alcohol! We're stopping on Friday for a rest, see how our weight is after another week or two then perhaps doing it for another 2 weeks. We are doing loads of research and we're not stupid so I think we'll live. And thanks, have 2 spuds for me please! Z

Too many diets...it is so confusing.

I do believe in working off what you put in.I do not think one should forego what they enjoy for the sake of dieting.

Food is to be enjoyed.

I agree with Katie - I can't do controlled diets because I rebel and end up stuffing my face with all the wrong stuff lol.

Mitch & I are currently on a healthy eating kick, lowering fat intake and generally just being more aware of what we're eating & what it consists of. For example - did you know that a kitkat contains twice as much fat as a mars bar??

Only 5 weeks into it but seems to be working so far. In my opinion (and thats all it is!) though, a lifestyle change is better than a diet with a set target, be it weight or time, as it changes your attitude towards food. But hey, whatever works is cool!

I totally agree, but once I hit 40 things changed! I've always been slim and never bothered much about what I ate but these days - well - need to be more careful, so we decided to really kick start our weight loss - get it down then eat as normal but being a little more careful! We excercise and always have, and we also love food! We never intended to be on this forever, that wouldn't be ideal, Z

You can have them ..... go onto Weight watchers Pro Points and you can eat anything you like, so long as you don't exceed your daily points allowance.

I (Bob) have lost 1.5 stones in just over 8 weeks and have never even felt hungry
