I will admit that I'm too lazy to go digging into this but I wonder how many of the people now currently complaining about lack of democracy in certain organisations also campaigned against proportional representation at the last referendum. |

I would hazard a guess at very few. |

Democracy is an illusion.
Yes we dispose of a certain form of liberties due to our "Democracy" yet is undeniable that a democracy rest if the voice of people.
As soon as you vote to elect a master who will then make decisions for the people, the mere principle of democracy isn't anymore.

"I am a great complainer about the lack of Democracy, both that of the EU and our own government.
I did not campaign against PR.
"
That may seem fairer but would be a nightmare to organise. Our current system is not great and we could do with a new one but I personally don't think PR is it.
Not for national government at least, where people need to know who they are voting for to represent their area. |

This is also very true, unless every person can have their say individually there is not true democracy.
What we practice here is representative democracy.
In fact democracy is a myth, it comes from the Greeks meaning the people have the power. Sounds great except that back in the day the 'people' were only men over the age of 20 who owned land. Women and slaves did not have a vote. |
