How can anyone believe any of the promises being made by the leave campain. They keep making definitive statements about what will happen should the referendum go their way but even if it does they will not have an control over the subsequent decisions. Whilst some of them are sitting MPs they are a small minority in the House of Commons so the choices made during the exit planning will be out of thier gift. Even if they do manage to gain influence in the Commons there is still the House of Lords able to impead thier plans. So I would predict that any exit will be a protracted process and much closer to the EU than is being promised. |

Whilst there is some truth to that as no one can really predict the future at least remain have the political power to enact what they are promising. This is fundamentally something that the leave campain can not acheive currently as they would need another election to do so and in the meantime a lot of the planning will need to have occured. |

Erm, a leave vote will result in us leaving. The House of Lords are not going to impede that. |

But that is not the only promise the the leave campain are relying on is it. There are all kind of claims bei g made about the type of trade deals etc. being made which are totally outside their gift. |

It's 100% truth that no one can predict the future.
The leave campaign are not a political party and can promise nothing, just as the remain campaign are not a political party and also cannot promis anything.
The only people who can make promises are the current government. But making and keeping are tow different things.
The decision should not be about what leave or remain campaigners say. it should be about your own feelings on whether we want to take back our democracy from the EU or continue to let the EU govern us through unelected people.
The EU is literally a law unto itself and harms the democratic process in this country and in the other member states too.

Why is it just the leave campaign making promises they can't keep? They are all betting on something they can't know the outcome on. |

Partly because the Remain campain are making few promises about doing anything differently. Most of Remains claims relate to what happens if they lose.
Making no change is easy whilst making lots of changes when you will not be in control of the government is very difficult. |
