How do you get a jackdaw down you're chimney? Not a joke but true about to run hot bath put a fire on for a romantic night a fledgling jackdaw stuck down one of the chimneys which I cant reach

It's usually the children spoiling our nights of passion now its bloody mother nature

Help please!!!!

If it got stuck by coming down try pushing it back up, tape a sponge to the end of a broom handle and try that

That's happened to me too. Twice! Fecking baby seagulls. Dad to the rescue! I now have wire mesh over the chimney pot. He had to take the whole fire to bits.

if its sooty how do you know its a jack daw? my guess is its a young magpie they love ruining Saturday night fact!

Poor little thing barely fledged, thought about a fire, but if the nests down too probably set the thatch on fire!!

Someone with the knowledge to safely dismantle and reinstall the fire afterwards and with drain or chimney sweeping rods. If its fallen all the way down the chimney there is sometimes a damper plate just above the fire into the chimney and it could be there. If you open anything up be prepared with a dust sheet or something as it's going to be dirty and flapping around... A chimney sweep maybe a good option and some will do a 24 hour service if you're prepared to pay.

Thanks my friend sensible answer but costly and will probably end up with that. But you cant get jiggy with it when the bloody thing chirping at you from the fire place
