Two halfpennies made a penny
Two shillings was Two bob
Two thrupences was a sixpence
Two sixpence made a shilling
Two and six was half a crown which was two shillings and sixpence.
Ten bob note was ten shillings.
Two ten shilling notes was a pound note.
A Florin was two shillings
Twelve pennies to a shilling

Other than the odd coin found lying around my parents house I've never seen much of the pre decimal stuff. |

I'm 50 and I don't remember being taught anything other than decimal money. I remember thrupenny bits,sixpences and big pennies because our holiday camp still had slot machines that took them after we were decimalised. |

No one has mentioned the 4 farthings to a penny. That makes me feel so old "
Went out of circulation (just) before my time but I can remember a few farthing coins lying around the house.
Anyone remember which bird featured on it?
