Do you mean a literal tingling sensation/numbness in your body/extermities?

If you do get to the doctor as thats probbaly not depression related but something more physical.

Are you on medication . I have had depression for 5 years. Believe it or not some of the suggestions like taking long walks, getting yourself into exercising.

Talking to someone sympathetic also.

As regards itching and tingling had that also that's the anxiety go back to doctor if on medication do a dosage review. Good luck in future

Alcohol is a depressant, don't rely on it long term.

Ask your doctor to refer you to a psychiatrist who will know what meds may suit you better, also ask about counseling.

There's a service called IAPT you can self refer to.

Or get in touch with the local mental health team as they should have a crisis care team.

If there is something in your past that is difficult to move on from perhaps try CBT - cognitive behavioural therapy

Ask your GP for a referral to your local mental health team for this but there can be quite a wait

Also, for now if you can, try to rest and be kind to you.

Eat well, sleep when you need and get outside in the fresh air even if for ten mins.

In terms of friends, look into local groups for inspiration, there may be something like an art group that may help.

Good luck.

There shouldn't be a wait if you're in crisis.

They should see you.

I have suffered with depression for past ten years and although I can keep it on check there are days, weeks when it hits you full on. I usually find it gets deeper when I drink although its a quick hit out of the mood but its short term and makes it worse. Try to change routine, I usually go swimming or take kids out to lift me. Talking is also a great help, luckily I have Kat who's a great support.

Truly good luck and there is always light at the end of tunnel x

having a few drinks can help you feel better but too many makes you more depressed, the next day as well.

What you describe could be symtoms of the menopause but depression and anxiety can give you these symtoms and other things like it.

My friend is on anti depressents she takes 5mg once a day and say they work.

I have suffered with it on and off since I was a kid. When I was born my mum suffered with depression which I have recently heard can be passed on and she was nervous about going out which also had an effect on me.

Reading other peoples experiences on facebook there are websites on there which can give you information and make you realise that its not just you that feels like it.

I know someone who had a nervous breakdown and I recognised some of her behaviour which was out of character for her and I remember being like her myself at times and the way people would get angry with her sometimes.

A GP will, but to get CBT you generally have to wait months.

I hope Bristol wellbeing are more use than Suffolk wellbeing were with me! I found them To be pretty useless in my case.

Probably be same but will give them a go. If like the mental health team which was reduced by budget cuts. Are probably there cause it looks good for the management, makes them look like they are doing their jobs

Try joining a group like taichi or yoga ... you'll meet with new people and be shown techniques to relax
