He could meet them all he wants, won't change the gun laws in the US. The NRA are much more powerful than Donald Trump

"He could meet them all he wants, won't change the gun laws in the US. The NRA are much more powerful than Donald Trump "

But it allows him to cut off Hillary's attack that he's in the pocket of the NRA or that's he's soft on guns.

actually.... not quite true........

what has been said that he now wants people on the terror watch list and the no fly list to be barred from being able to buy guns.....

the NRA have always been against it

the democrats actually proposed this exact thing last december... and not 1 republican voted for it... it was defeated 51-46 in the senate....

here to help!

Give it some thought.

He basically said he wants to stop Muslims buying guns.

It's not like he's doing it for any of the right reasons.

Did you see the fuckwit saying that if only every one in the club had been carrying a gun the gunman wouldn't have managed to kill so many.

2 points to that:

1: possibly not but the death toll would have been just as high. Know one wil know who started the shooting, everyone gets their gun out and they all start shooting at each other for having a gun drawn!

2: His idea is that on a Friday and Saturday night everyone getting d*unk in a club should be carrying a side arm.

So every altercation becomes a gunfight and the death toll goes through the roof.

Could this line of thinking be any more ridiculous.

It would be useful from a Darwinian point of view.

and trump goes back to normal service/NRA talking points.....

what he has just said on orlando...

"If some of those great people that were in that club that night, had guns strapped to their waist or strapped to their ankle... you would have had a situation folks that would have been always horrible, but nothing like the carnage that we witnessed this weekend....

It’s going to continue to get worse until they respect us, folks"

But you or your family could be the first to be shot - I'd not wish it on anybody.

Trump has shown himself to be an egotistical bore lacking in decency or empathy this week.

actually there is a more interesting thing going on at the moment.... the democrats in the upper house (the senate) have decided to take matters into their own hands and are basically going to try and force this thru....

they have decided to filibuster all business in the senate till this gets done.... which means they are now holding up all business and will keep talking till there is something done....

and they will keep talking.... and talking and talking till basically the other side give in....

for political honks this is almost like xmas..... a no time limit filibuster is rare

Wasn't this the tactic used by the Republican party to destroy all progressive Democrat legislation in the past and most recently to stop Obamacare in his last term?

I seem to remember him (Obama) saying something along the lines of I am President and we hold the majority in both houses but I can do nothing because the country is being held to ransom by the Republican minority...

filibusters have happened before.... but they normally have a time limit they place on discussing business.... so they just have to keep talking till time runs out..... and thats is what happened with republicans

what they were discussing (which is actually gun security) didn't have a time limit on it...

so the person who started the philibuster (who represents newtown, connecticut) will have to keep talking and talking.... others can help him but asking him questions without him yeilding the floor.... but he has to stay and answer all questions and continue talking and stay on subject.... 5hrs so far

So how does this work Fabio? Are there set hours of business? If so how long is the house in session for each day and how many days a week? Are there breaks for meals? Or is he on his feet until he drops of exhaustion?

Basically normally till 6pm.... But basically on his feet till he drops....

Now coming up on 14hrs and counting... 8th longest so far... And the longest in 30 years....

The thing is under senate rules they actually don't have to stay on subject... But for this, it's all been on topic.... And 40 people on the Democratic Party side have helped so far.... And 2 republicans

come on, we already know that, do you really think I did not read that whole article before I posted the thread, do you not consider them U.S. citizen's, if they were not U.S. citizens it would be very difficult for them to buy guns, so again; with intention of reducing the amount of USA citizen's allowed to buy guns

.

We also know Trump is fully backing the NRA, this is just a ploy to be seen to be doing good against terror
