Yes we know it's all fake (predetermined, it hurts like fuck as I tried out a wrestling school for a few lessons) but there is just something about it that makes me feel like a kid again. Anyone else on here into it?

I would have to agree with most of what you said there, just doesn't seem half as good as it was years ago. My interest in it faded at the end of the attitude era. WCW provided good competition for WWE so they both had to be on top of their game to get the viewers/ratings. Since WCW ended there has been no serious competition and the product had suffered as a result.

Agreed. The attitude era growing up made it worth watching.

As for Lesnar, he's like the Mountain in GoT. If it wasn't scripted he'd likely tear whoever was in front of him to bits. His ufc training camps looked insane.

I'll be in Birmingham in November this year, as per usual, so that one of my sons can watch WWE at the Genting Arena. It's a three hour nightmare, and he squanders hundreds of pounds in t-shirts etc.

Still I get to go for a ruby on the Coventry Road, top nosh!

Used to like what was WWF back in the 1990's, Foley being one of my personal favs, along with younger Undertaker and Kane.

Then Mrs McMahon got involved in politics and they ended the attitude era, it's now all rated PG. It's bollocks!

I went to see TNA at the Universal Studios in Orlando. It was ok in the impact zone, but right at the end they replaced the ring ropes with barbed wire, and put a load of barbed wire wrapped items, like tables and chairs, in the ring. The two guys who fought in that ring got cut to bits, I was right up front and could see the cuts happening.

Unfortunately the whole businesses has gone tits up, and rumours about them going bankrupt are abound. There is even talk of a WWE take over.

A shame..

We all know it's not 100% genuine fighting but who cares. When they are on their game and can put on a good show, you just have to respect the talent of these athletes and the genuine risks they take

Exactly that. Appreciate it for what it is... Entertainment. Some guys expect them to legit kick the snot outta one another. If you like that, cool, go watch MMA.

I look at it so differently to when I first watched as a child. To a child, it's "real". At my age now, I admire the workrate that these guys and girls put in, smashing their bodies off of a wooden canvas night in, night out for the fans' entertainment!

It's probably more athletically impressive than ever before. Some of the stuff Rollins, Styles, Zayn, Neville, Balor etc does is literally unbelievable.

The only downside is it's become too much like a video game IMO. Yet I understand why it's gone that way.

Yeah, I love it. Rollins is my favorite active superstar, he's awesome.

We're in a different era now with professional wrestling and they have to appeal to a different audience than that of late 90s.
