Hahaha this made me laught. I'm exactly like that n I've two daugthers. I've never lied I'm not maternal. I love them to death they are my angels but I know exactly what you mean as soon as they go home im like ahhhh bliss.  xxx |

I can't stand kids, never been a baby person if I go to a house with a baby and a dog I'd stroke the dog any day
I loved my own kids because they were mine but I don't care for other people's, I will avoid any family type places as I can't be doing with being surrounded by children, they make to much noise  |

I'm a community nurse I spend all day going round peoples houses I don't particularly like but making pleasantries and pretending I do |

I do actually like my job and most of the people I go into are lovely but there are some really rude and abusive people I go into too, but I have to be professional and be nice back and pretend I like them |

I think 'other people's kids' will be quite common - likewise here, a fake smile 'aren't they adorable' er no!
Controversial and gonna get me *so* blocked by LOADS of people I know - dogs. I like that people love to own them and that they make them happy and give companionship so I'll grin and tolerate them but they're really not for me. Dog owners - you know your house smells of dogs, right? Even if you think it doesn't as you've become accustomed to it, it does. Trust me on this. (much like a smokers house smells of cigs).

all the time at work - i work in a high level dementia and brain injury home - i think all the staff pretend to like 'family' sometimes - its hard to always see both sides of things and im usually pretty good at that |

I couldnt give a fuck what I say to people aslong as its the truth if it hurts them then that is not my fault they cant handle the truth the reason my friends like me so much is how brutally honest I am and dont give a fuck what people say or think about me |

Just before I came on. My 5 year old showed me a pic of a house she drew. The windows were in the corners. Totally structurally unsound. As much as it pained me I had to say I thought the drawing was great...but we're going to have to have words about her engineering choices... |

Work is where most of my 'pretending' happens!
I'm getting paid to pretend so it's something that is necessary.
I have to admit to pretending to like most people's children / pets is a chore!
I like children and animals but I don't need either of them to live with me!
I pretend less and less the older I get - I'm not sure that I care what most people think anymore! |

Just cos I don't like them doesn't mean I'm not nice to them.. they get Fed and cuddles and I will make sure they go to nice loving homes.I'm just a dog person.. and my kids are going, so had no chance of keeping her in, whilst being booked for being spade. |

I find it really hard to fake things (not that I can't, I just value genuine emotion too much) so I just don't bother trying. It can make me seem a little cold so I sometimes make a joke of it instead.
I'm not a fan of kids at all, and to the extent that I doubt I'll ever have one (by choice at least). |
