Just curious if anyone has any pointers

I have a BTEC Level 2 diploma in H&SC that I've been sitting on for a couple of years now. I don't want to work in residential care - I've done that before and I struggled with the personal care - but through that I learned how much I enjoy approving a person's quality of life. Now I fancy getting into the therapy/counselling side, but I'm not sure how apart from volunteering - there's a few general local places that deal with lots of issues like homelessness & substance abuse.

Can anyone point me in the direction of national charities or courses that are readily available please?

East Yorkshire

My advice would be look at local educational settings and see if they have any courses but as I understand it you also need to be volunteering alongside the course too. I guess it also depends on the area you want to work in as it's such a broad field from a general counsellor through to becoming a psychotherapist. Good luck with it

Cheers

Yeah, there's a local adult education centre that does a massive variety of classes that I plan to look into.
