I always pick them up and wouldn't think twice about going out of my way to get them where they need to go

I'd like to think I'd offer a lift to a hitchhiker, but in all honesty I can understand why some people would have their concerns about sharing a car journey with strange bloke in a frock.....

Northants

Desperate for a lift

Desperate to do whatever to get wherever

Desperate to use you for their advantage

Was told a long time back by a guy at work who picked up a couple MF who wanted to go to one destination then was made to feel pressurised into taking them 60 miles out his way when the guy got nasty and angry.

Do not pick anyone up on the roads. Would you flag down a car when walking home from the bars 3/4 tipsy and go with a stranger.. Probably not so why pick one up not knowing what they are carrying and what they may do to you to be able to get to their destination.

They can walk but or train for their lives but not one is getting in my well earned well looked after vehicle.

Just my point.. each to their own.

Its a shame that society has come to this, but you just never know do you.

Even as a female picking up a female i think id not risk it.

Felt awful though as i drove past and the guys eyes connected with mine...and an empty car x

If someone gets into my car intent on trouble after I've stoped to pick them up, then as far as I'm concerned, they've gotten into the wrong car.

i've found during my 30 years of hitching that self centred tosspots, twats and generally objectionable, odious people don't give lifts to hitchers .... it's a covenient system that filters that kind of dross out of going on long journeys

.... i'd like to add not all folks who don't give lifts fit into this category
