Amazing the biggest investors into world football across the world are the ones to blame.
I for one don't condone the behaviour in anyway shape or form but find it truly amazing how it's always England's fault......
The media do like to make a good story to get people talking.

What I read was the English fans were having a beer in a pub and were attacked by a massive gang of French hooligans. Somehow that got reported as the English causing the trouble.
No time for hooligans, but this was people in a pub getting attacked. If they were rampaging around looking for trouble maybe, but just having a beer and a laugh? OP you're over reacting. |

Placing England in Marseilles was a bad move by FIFA. The Marseilles fans are infamous for causing trouble and two Leeds fans were stabbed there a few years ago, and it's no big secret that French police are biased against the English anyway. So typically European.  |

This is what I've heard too, and my Twitter feed is full of people - including people who support my club and who I've been 'Twitter pals' with for ages - saying similar things, having a drink and a sing song, then attacked.
Have you seen the footage? Press cameramen running around en masse at the slightest flare up making it look wide scale. It sells papers.
The MAJORITY are law abiding fans there for a good time - and from my Twitter feed thats exactly what most are having with no problems at all |

Some shocking scenes on social media.
Yes, you get d*unken English louts and the English fans are far from innocent - sadly there will always be some meatheads out for trouble. But the Russian gangs are armed with knives (something the English don't do) and the local ultras are ambushing innocent fans too. Yet it appears to be all England's fault if you listen to the press.
Some seriously injured bloodied fans out there - kicked unconscious or stabbed. One England fan allegedly fighting for life after a cardiac arrest after being attacked by Russian fans - hopefully the press will give a balance view of what's going on and not just blame the 'English hooligans'. |

Tennis has just been held without incident, TDF starts soon, never seen a mass brawl there, F1 & WRC will no doubt be trouble free and I suspect there may be a rugby match between Englanf and France that passes without trouble. i normally agree with you... but on this occasion i don't...
there as a few things here....
1) russian holigans are as notorious probably higher than the english at the moment... between those two sets of fans plus the marseile ultra's this is the one game and venue where i though there may be issues....
2) it is always the way the french police handle football games, it the wat they handle marseille home games... and it is heavy handed compared to the way the british police do.... |

Fair play the English fans have been exemplary fans at the last few tournaments.
From pals out there its local French hooligans and Russian ultras that are starting all the fighting.

But this tournament has always been marked for trouble one way or another, be it be the football hooligans or the threat of terrorists attack. Or just the fact that France is having its on civil problems! Don't Tar all football fans with the same brush. People here criticising hooligans are of course hoping no one is seriously injured...were the reasonable people that can't comprehend going to a sporting event and looking to fight anyone.

I am out there and the Russians turned up mob handed and I have video footage of them throwing bottles at police, they were also goading English - we were in a quiet bar away from and the street got hit with tear gas
You try having that in your eyes and lungs not nice. We were sitting having a quiet drink no singing or shouting
Also 1 lad has died and another fighting for life due to the Russians. The Marseille locals have been at it as well
I am not a hooligan, never been in trouble with police. The French police did not want to get involved
I have had multiple people contact me to ask if ok. Ok I agree the English have not helped themselves but I know if 2 squares in town centre that the Russians closed of exits and stormed it!!!!!!
Now an everyone please think what they have said and also not to mention what happened in the Russian end Witt flares and storming our fans
