needy men?

so....a date that never even happened is not going to happen.

chap knows i am on this site "he's not comfortable with it"...of course I would leave if anything was to develop....but as we haven't even reached first date status i don't think i am going to be making life changing decisions quite yet...ok, no probs...all good.

my ex is travelling 9 hours to come visit his kids and as such is staying for one night in the house he pays the mortgage on "i'm not comfortable with that....it doesn't bode well for our future"

now, is this needy or is this control?

i ask out of curiosity as...well, as you can imagine, the date is not going ahead and i ought to stick with what i know

being single rocks and is totally the way to stay!

IF i was in a relationship with someone then, yes, i can understand why it might not work having the ex over...

fact is, i don't need to stay here when my ex is...i made that clear.

i think unless date guy was paying my mortgage, he has no say over who stays here and my ex is my ex for a reason.

i'll come back for you once i've divorced carlos....k?

I am too independent to have time for any needy gents!

Better to be single than in a bad relationship I'd say!

totally agree!

i dipped my toe and my ankle got wet...but that's all!

i was actually considering the impact of a relationship and got as far as losing control of the remote and experienced something akin to a panic attack

Sorry, you have to tell me you love me and that I'm the greatest lover in the world before I can commit to answering your question...

On a serious note, neediness and controlling behaviour are often on an emotional spectrum. Love is often about neediness too- Eric Fromm said growing up is knowing the difference between 'I love love you because I need you' and 'I need you because I love you.'

Now I know sod all about you except this post, and sod all about the other person except this post, but I think you're more than sharp enough to have spotted a mismatch between your level of maturity and neediness and theirs....

Knew I did something wrong when I left my husband: left him the house and contents but took the kids and started again from scratch! Damn and bugger!

Personally I wouldn't entertain any man trying to dictate anything to me: already have my daughter's doing that!

I personally hate possessiveness, some visits to Chams havent been all that because of it

With yours though, i agree, its your house, your ex pays the mortgage, you decide who stays in it not your "not even a boyfriend"??? Plenty more fish in the sea so dump the tadpole

Lucky escape I say, think he was preparing the ball and chain for you. I wouldn't dream of saying that before even a date, gods knows what it would be like after a relationship developed.
