Watching this now and fell like throwing the tv out the window, some really unfair comments to Farage specially about being racist to black peopleather cos he has such high views on net migration! Really? I work with with black/ Asian all sorts of regions at the hospital and they have expressed there concerns how is it racist? Confused is the word right now |

I'd argue that Farage tried to quote facts in his answers.
Cameron is just waffling and scaremongering. He should overrule any calls for another Scottish referendum

Precisely why is it such a terrible thought to want to stop massive and uncontrolled immigration, have our Parliament as Sovereign and to have the Supreme Court of our land here in the UK and not in Strasbourg?

Putting the obvious biased opinions of Remainers or Brexiters aside on here, many of the post debate analysis by political commenrators on itv news at 10, sky news and BBC news put the itv Cameron/Farage debate as a score draw.
Sure Farage had some difficult moments but so did David Cameron. I would say both of them put in a mediocre performance tonight with neither coming out as the clear winner. |

Farage has the problem that people listen to the media and others bod either decide all his comments are because he's a racist, rather than listen to what he actually says. One opinionated woman was essentially telling him what he ment and blindly refused to listen to or allow him to answer. |

"I thought Corben was anti EU looking at his voting stats.
Why would he suddenly about turn ?
"
George Galloway who literally sat next to Jeremy Corbyn on the back benches of the house of commons for many years says Corbyn looks like a hostage in this EU referendum. He is being held captive by the Labour party and being forced to mouth the words they tell him but in his heart Corbyn doesn't really believe it. Corbyn has gone out of his way to keep as low profile as possible in this EU referendum campaign. He voted to come out of what is now the EU in 1975, and stood alongside Labour figures like Tony Benn and Michael Foot who said we should leave the EU. Jeremy Corbyn has been a staunch Eurosceptic for decades right up until funnily enough he became leader of the labour party. George Galloway said Corbyn stood alongside him in the lobbies to get Britain out of the EU. Corbyn is not fooling anyone. He is only doing what he is now doing to try to gain what little support he can from the parliamentary Labour party and the Blairites who want to stay in the EU. Watch closely because before June 23rd Corbyn could still change sides again he may not think the little support from the Blairites is worth betraying his Eurosceptic principles for. |

Unfortunately, it's quite easy to get drawn into the battle of personalities and forget what the debate is really about. I expect that many will end up voting based on who they dislike the least, as a result. It's best to avoid these debates and try to find an unbiased opinion to shed light on what is a complex situation, but one that has disgracefully been subject to scaremongering from both sides. |

You missed the last 10 minutes then where Cameron basically said if you want to leave the EU you are a quitter, a little Englander and you don't love Britain. Well yes and no. It IS about leaving the European Union (which we never voted for) and we WILL have to leave Single Market. But it is most certainly about immigration as whenj we DO leave we can control a) what people we need for our economy, b) How many we can support in our country and c) who we let in and under what terms. As has been said it works for Australia. And before we get the 'per capita' nonsense yes Australia lets in more than we do (per capita but not the same volume) but they do NOT have an open door like we do and it is a very big country unlike here. |

It is quite odd how people still call Farage a 'racist'. When he was the only guy saying an open door immigration policy was stupid Labour and the Luvvies threw down the 'Racism' card at him to stop all discussion. And happily lied to us about how many would come here. They said 30,000. Farage said millions and who was right?
I defy anyone to quote ANY racist comments made by Farage during this debate or indeed at any time. To say we must protect our country is NOT racist. To say we have too many immigrants here is NOT racist. The woman who gobbed off big time about Farage pillorying black people was actually a bloody liar. Sadly no one challenged her and Farage was shut down as he tried to correct her.
And setting aside personalities lets remember it is only because of Farage and UKIP and 25 years of their campaigning that we are actually HAVING this Referendum. Well done that man I say.
Vote OUT on the 23rd and lets have our own Independence Day.... |

The woman in the audience tonight who you mentioned had clearly not checked her facts beforehand. It's common knowledge really that Farage wants closer ties with the commonwealth and not the EU. There are many videos on youtube dating back years where he is on record saying that. It's EU immigration policy that discriminates against anyone from outside of the EU giving unfair favour to anyone with an EU passport. An Australian points based immigration system if we left the EU would be more fair and treat all immigrants equally no matter where in the world they come from. It's also very easy to find out that Ukip have had a good number of black, mixed race and ethnic minorities candidates up for election in various elections (which the woman in the audience claimed they hadn't).
When Farage pointed out to her that many black and ethnic minority people had voted Ukip in the general election she said "what percentage of the overall 3% of the vote you got then?" Ukip actually got around 14% of the overall vote share in the general election so God knows where she got the 3% share idea from? It seems she was ill prepared or just uninformed of the facts, or just trying to make Farage look bad but people will not be fooled because most of what she said was nonsense. |

Julie Etchingham needs to learn how to conduct a debate.
If you compare the two "debates" Nigel Farage was cut short or not allowed to answer questions posed whereas David Cameron was allowed to waffle on unimpeded.
The bias stood out a mile.
Having watched the whole sorry affair twice I have come to the opinion that inspite of this Nigel Farage scored far better in the replies he was allowed to make than David Cameron |

1. "They" are not " unelected" they are elected by the council of ministers. Bear in mind that in UK our ministers are not elected. They are appointed by the Prime Minister; and Ministers do not have to be elected MPs ; many aren't.
2.The EU does not have control of our finances: we do
3. The EU does not have control of our justice; we do
4. The EU does not have control of our borders: we do
5. The EU does not have control of our employment: we do. |

Of course, what everyone has forgotten is that a Referendum has no legal status within the British Constitution;
The principle of British law making is that Parliament is sovereign; only Oarkuament can make decisions; and pass laws;
A referendum us no more than the expression of the wishes of the population.
Even if there is an " out" vote, then for the UK to leave the EU, the government must put a motion before the house, that the UK is to leave the EU; and that has to be passed by parliament .
The wishes expressed in the referendum will be taken into account.
But the UK cannot, constitutionally, leave the EU until it has been passed in parliament.
It was the same for the Scottish Referendum; if independence had won the referendum, there would have been no change until Parliament had agreed it. |

Indeed ...but it will have everything to do with migration if we do leave ad we can then control what Merton so blindly and stupidly did. ...that's the confusing point.
And it will have little if any effect on us and the European market. The countries telling us not to are doing so because they will have to renegotiate deals which will be less beneficial to them compared to ad they stand now. It will cost them more. |

Wasn't a great program, looking forward to watching Andrew Neill taking on George Osborne this evening.
Still undecided, I've always been rather contrary and when so many people tell me to do something I tend to do the opposite. While the benefits of free trade with the EU are obvious, I can't help feeling a vote to stay in will lead to an inexorable move to a United States of Europe. While our system isn't perfect, and far from it, at least we know who are responsible for decisions and we get our chance to fire them or back them every 5 years. |

Seems it has done the opposite of what they set out to do, people are going crazy about the way farage was set up with the questions but not cameron. Ooopps |

It's much more deeper than a 10 minute Q&A session.
Those MPS who want to stay in are only interested in there pocket. If you where pocketing £3900 per month plus any expensive I'm sure you would want everyone to stay.

"Farage is offensive but I actually left the house after 20 mins of Cameron. I wanted to slap his sumg, stupid, fat face...
Pissing on about how the UK is better off in the EU and how committed the g'ment are and how it'll be like a Hieronymus Bosch painting if we left...
As if some other smug, fat stupid entitled cunt/man had randomly pledged to give the country a referendum in the first place.
I had to leave the house.
Go for a walk.
Prick.
You missed the last 10 minutes then where Cameron basically said if you want to leave the EU you are a quitter, a little Englander and you don't love Britain. Judging by the polls Cameron just insulted half of the population of the country and half of his own party who want to Leave the EU. Yeah great way to win votes Dave, just insult them! " .................I helped at a dinner for old army veteran's last week..all of these old boy's who served their country are voting out....so that slimey cunt Cameron think's these heroe's don't love their country...Fuck the EU..And fuck off Cameron. |

Part of the reason the whole world seems to be telling us to stay in is that they know that the UK leaving is likely to end the whole federal European project.

That's their primary driving force. I just listened to Gov and he made alot of sense about taking back control. If we don't now it won't come up again for a very long time.

Did you see the veterans for Brexit story yesterday? In a letter to The Sun newspaper 270 members of veterans for Britain, ex service personnel and those currently serving our country in the armed forces were urged to register to vote before the deadline. It is thought the armed forces vote could swing the vote one way or the other so as the deadline to register to vote has been extended until tomorrow now because of website problems on the registration website spread the word with the armed forces community and make sure they are registered to vote before tomorrow. George D Cowie, a former army sergeant said in the letter, "our forebears fought and made terrible sacrifices in 2 world wars for the freedom of their families and the sovereignty of this great country. It falls upon us once again to fight for our freedom and our sovereignty".
Fears have been raised with veterans for Brexit that many armed forces personnel are not registered so the deadline is now tomorrow make sure they register and vote. |

Does anyone know if miltary voting can be analysed ? Do bases get their own voting stations. It will be fascinating to see a breakdown. Just expect Scotland compared to rest will get most attention but other breakdowns will be good to know. |

"How fucking stupid is it to let un-elected foreign bureaucrats have remote control of our finances, justice, borders, employment etc etc. Forget all this ridiculous personality/sound-bite blarney, lets leave this european farce to it's eventual demise. Vote out.
1. "They" are not " unelected" they are elected by the council of ministers. Bear in mind that in UK our ministers are not elected. They are appointed by the Prime Minister; and Ministers do not have to be elected MPs ; many aren't.
2.The EU does not have control of our finances: we do
3. The EU does not have control of our justice; we do
4. The EU does not have control of our borders: we do
5. The EU does not have control of our employment: we do."
So Sorry, it must be true if you say so using bullet points. |

It's the terms of trade that people care about. What are the leave campaign proposing for this ? Would be good to know this side of the vote |

not sure anyone has said we will be 'prevented' from trading if we leave, its accepted that other countries have had to negotiate trade deals with the EU and both sides accept that we will also..
what that will entail is again a matter of supposition and assumption but what it will cause is a period of uncertainty and instability whilst those negotiations are taking place and commerce does not like instability..
what we have at present may not be what we have trade deal wise and no one can say if it will be beneficial.. |

Nice try switching topic. We leave on 24th so now the UK needs a plan on how to deal with the EU trade and other major markets. Some details on what the best approach would be good to know. |

Actually (if it's a leave vote in the Referendum, ) we don't leave on the 24th;
The government goes to Parliament for a vote on whether we leave ( the referendum has no actual power to do anything; it's simply a declaration of the people's wishes ) once Parliament has voted " yes", ( it will probably require an act to be drafted to do it ) we then apply to the EU to leave; it is a two year process . We would leave sometime in 2018. On the way to leaving, Parliament has to agree all the individual terms and conditions negotiated with the EU, the terms for stopping the conditions that are part of the EU, and any new agreements we wish to make .
We don't just " walk away". It is going to be an incredibly complex process .

"Or a rush to invest in the UK" dream on only a fool and his money are easily parted ..no major company or country has said it will invest substantially in the UK as a result of a brexit vote ..only companies saying they may scale back operations in the UK ... If we leave the EU ..but then you already know brexit will cost jobs ..that's the price to pay for your perceived freedom ...

"It is quite odd how people still call Farage a 'racist'.

Correct. It won't change any of that one little bit...the main difference which people seem to put so little emphasis on is that we the people can start to take back what out politicians have been giving away for their own benefits. Unfortunately recent British tradition has been of the white woolly bleeting rather than the protection of our heritage. Dare I say it the french have more spunk that most of us now... |

That's all fine saying it's racist cos he pointed out Romanian men commit these sex crimes etc.. but did not one watch the German programme interview German women about the immigration a few weeks ago? The German attacks new yrs eve and one German lady was sunbathing by a pool and got followed to the changing room after being heckled by a group of Romanian men for wearing a bikini.. they then beat her for this. The German women they interviewed all said they were intimidated by them, they harass there women constantly. Is this racism or fact? What farage was saying to was that we should have better checks and controls on who comes in, not letting just anyone in etc.. I don't see this as racist or biast, I see this as realistic |

not a supporter as such but can't find any I'm am surprised there are well over 50 in the past two years posted by the British press ..but you have minimise fab to search for them only the the blind cant see try brail .....
Give us one quoteits already up here Nigel farage insisting Romanians are more likely to commit crime than any other immigrant..is a racist comment against the Romanians.. Sexist his comment about women in the city should earn less than men .. ...
Statistically he's correct, is it morally right to point it out, maybe, maybe not"
You beat me to it. When Farage made those comments about Romanian criminals he backed it up with official MET police crime statistics. Again like the woman in the audience on itv last night people on here making racist accusations and just looking at hysterical newspaper headlines, without looking deeper into it and what was actually said at the time. It now turns out after some investigations in the media that woman who berated Farage in the audience on itv last night is a Huffington Post blogger (not sure why anyone should be surprised by that though?). |

"It is quite odd how people still call Farage a 'racist'.

And before we get the 'per capita' nonsense yes Australia lets in more than we do (per capita but not the same volume) but they do NOT have an open door like we do and it is a very big country unlike here."
Well it’s only an open door policy for people already living in the EU wanting to enter the UK, due to EU rules on free movement of people; the UK must admit EU citizens and their family members. As regards most non-EU citizens, the UK still controls its borders.
As far as immigrants coming from outside the EU the UK will not gain any extra powers to control their entry compared to the powers it has already. So to re iterate for those immigrants the UK (should it choose to) can already apply the terms you’ve stated
“a) What people we need for our economy, b) How many we can support in our country and c) who we let in and under what terms” Just like the Australians.
Now let’s go back to the EU citizens, if the UK were to leave the European political union (by the way the reason we did not voted for it was most probably we were either too young or a twinkle in our parents eyes, but the UK citizens that were around and eligible at the time did vote for) but still wanted to trade in the single market which we most likely will want to do then the UK will have to accept the EU terms and conditions set out will inevitably mean accepting the free movement of EU citizens. Just like Norway and Switzerland (the examples people like to give) are having to do.
So as you can see as far as immigration is concerned there will be no difference. So those purported millions of Turkish waiting to rush the UK soon as they join the EU (it’s looking difficult for them to join at the moment) will be coming weather we are in or out of the European political union.
The only way the UK can stop the free movement of EU citizens is to leave the European single market as well as the European Union. But why would the UK want to leave the single market, after all if you were a trader trading on eBay or amazon and prospering why would you then want to leave that to go trade on gum tree?

Bit of a strange example to use, as you don't need to be in the single market to buy stuff from eBay or Amazon. USA are not in the EU or the single market, we don't even have any kind of trade deal with them, yet you can buy stuff from USA on ebay or Amazon, there are probably even ads on Gumtree from USA if you look hard enough. Point is the EU is outdated and past its sell by date, an analogue union in a now digital age. We live in a globalised world and people trade globally over the internet without the need for trade deals. The EU is a relic of the past.
The single market is not a magic bullet for free trade anyway, we pay billions every year in EU membership fees to access the single market so that is a tariff of sorts. |

I was giving the example to emphasise the difference in market size. A trader trading on eBay/Amazon has access to a bigger customer base then one trading on gum tree. |

Thats false as we can't sign our own British trade deals while we are members of the EU. We only get EU trade deals negotiated by the EU as members of the EU. Its partly why EU trade deals take years and years and years to reach conclusion because you have to get agreement between 28 member countries. We could do them much quicker on a 1 to 1 country basis ouside of the EU, negotiated by British representatives instead of a faceless EU Eurocrat. Secondly despite the tariffs you say China slap on our motor cars, one of Jaguar/Land Rover biggest customers is the Chinese market, we export loads of Jaguar/Land Rover cars over there because they love our product and tariffs are no barrier to trade if someone wants a product they will pay the price for it. That is how business works between buyers and sellers. One of CAT/JCB biggest markets is also China, again they think our JCB diggers and earth movers are quality products so they pay the price including the tariff.
Lastly we are not getting free trade with EU members because we pay an EU membership fee, so we are paying for access to the single market. There is an old saying "No such thing as a free lunch in this world". |

Actually all of the above is completely untrue: UK is at liberty to conclude trade deals with anyone it pleases .sll that is required ( since we are members of the EU ) is that goods incoming are EU compliant .
As far as time is concerned; the EU is remarkably quick at concluding trade deals . That it takes ages is a complete myth, with no basis; compare deals made by and between countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, China India, and compare them with Deals made by the EU .
I mean truth, not UKIP/ BREXIT lies.
