Before anyone comments this isn't another why won't anyone meet me, I do ok, I'm just genuinely interested in what people think.
So when do you stop being young and become old. I read lots of people say they prefer one or the other but very few for middle aged. The better from my point of view are the people who actually state an age range so I know not to bother them.
So over to fabbers... |

I had someone call me middle aged the other day, I was incensed what the hell?? Can they see into the future and predict that I will live to be 82?
Same as being call older by guys in their mid to late 30's, really??
Maybe it's just me and I have a problem with my age and growing older. I don't feel old (well sometimes) but in my mind I'm still young |

I suppose many people see me as middle aged. I don't feel old. I don't think or feel like I'm in my 20's though. I seem to have stuck about 37 but with greying hair. I have a happy and positive outlook on life and although I don't want to get old, it's better than the alternative |

I know a lot of people would consider me 'middle aged' on paper ... which is quite horrifying because the term conjures up all sorts of negative connotations (dull, set in your ways, on a fast road to old age). What's worse is I can remember as a kid thinking anyone 40 plus was middle aged and I'm well past my 40s now. Not so sure you can define 'middle aged' these days .... there doesn't seem to be such a distinct division of generations like the ones I remember growing up where certain standards of behaviour were expected from each age group. Now it's all about attitude .... can't escape the fact I'm an 'older' woman but would hate to be thought of as actually being old.

I don't think you can work it out, I guess to anyone in their 20's, over 40's are middle aged as that's often their parents age. But when you get to 40 you don't feel old. And to an 88 year old, that's young. It's all kind of relative I guess.
Mr may be 60 this year, but he runs around on ladders and lifts double radiators without batting an eyelid, so I don't consider him old physically or mentally.
