Euro 2016: Fans warned to be 'vigilant' amid France terror threat

Football fans travelling to France for Euro 2016 should be "vigilant at all times" in the face of terrorism threats, the Foreign Office has said.
It said there was a "high threat from terrorism", with stadiums, fan zones and transport hubs possible targets.
UK counter-terrorism officers have been "a key part" of security planning and a team is in France, police said.
Officers will also be stationed at Eurostar terminals and on some cross-Channel trains.
It comes after officials in Ukraine arrested a Frenchman apparently inspired by extremist right-wing beliefs to plot a series of attacks.

But this really is full on scaremongering.
What has being in it out if the EU got to do with Weyher or not we stop terrorist entering the country? It's not like we are currently saying "what's that, your coming in under the free movement of people act, well why didn't you say so, do you want a hand with that rocket launcher?"
Not all but certainly the majority of security experts say we are far better informed and safer within the EU from an information sharing point of view. |

but then again the UK government is broke, just been on the news they cant even afford to award ship building contracts for new frigates
A former head of the Navy said the UK government "must come clean" and admit lack of money is delaying a frigate building programme on the Clyde.
Admiral Lord West, First Sea Lord between 2007 to 2010, told the defence committee that the MoD had effectively "run out of money".
MPs are looking at claims the timetable for the new Type 26 has slipped.
The committee heard that work was scheduled for this year but may not start until the first part of 2018.

If you read/ listen to the whole news; this guy was clocked before he started; but allowed to continue in order to identify the weapon suppliers ; the security services infiltrated the whole ring; all the weapons he was carrying were deactivated; the explosive was fake and the detonators were deactivated;
Pretty damn good intelligence coup altogether; key thing being a whole network of weapon suppliers has been broken up ( in UK you may not have got this as UK press and TV is not his at getting the whole story ) The guy is a well known ( and very stupid) neo- fascist ; ( and of no consequence at all) but the security services must have thought all their Christmasses had come at once when he went off to get weapons .

Well you could say it is working, seeing how much weaponry has been found before it was used. Ok, you can also day it was intended to be found.
Football will always be an easy target, fans drinking before a match are never as sharp as any other time.
