The dentist!
Supposed to be having some work done today, but I still have a bad infection.... hurts when he touched it, so he wont be pulling it today!
Took loads of courage just going through his front door, and now I gotta do it all over again next Thursday
Why do they like to frighten us soo much???

My old dentist was as gentle as anything, but he has gone back to Australia now.... oh and he didn't mind that I wanted to be knocked out for the work to be done!
This new one wants to do it with me still awake I have a phobia of needles, so even just sitting in his chair I start the shakes, and then the pain of the needle actually going into my mouth!!!
Think I may make a call to my old place and see who is available, as long as I get KO'd I don't care, also saves them getting hurt too.
Good luck with your appointment tomorrow |

i went to be sedated once..the dentist told me to trust her and have it done under local..i screamed a tirade of abuse at her and so now they 'advise' im put under general..if its necessary for you..then make sure you get what you need xx
long history to do with dog bites and surgery/ stitches in and around my mouth..please note :im not usually abusive to anyone x
i have got better over the years and learned to do some self hypnosis and counting and other ways of dealing..but i still have my limits.. i think you are brave for going..and i know you will be ok

It has taken me many years to trust my dentist. After having a wisdom tooth out under a local with another dentist. Who didnt let it numb properly and who had his knee on my chest to keep me in the chair!
Even now, when in the chair, I have to have one foot on the floor and he never reclines it fully.
I really, really feel for people who dont have the luxury of a patient and kind dentist. Toothache is one of the worst pains ever.
xx

I have an excellent dentist after some bad experiences. The way he switched off pain in my head once nearly made me fall to my knees in gratitude. I almost hugged him goodbye.
Find a good dentist and cherish them. |
