Bikini Hunt for the not super thin

Jump to: Newest in thread

I'm on the hunt for the perfect bikini. I have a long torso so one piece swim suits are uncomfortable. Tankinis usually end up coming up off my belly in the water and showing the belly anyway. I want a bikini. I used to be really tiny. No problems finding one then. However, now 2 kids later, I am between a US size 12 and 14 with a bit of a belly and 36D breasts. I need a bikini that covers what I don't like in my belly and can hold the boobs up. I seem to be having issues finding anything I like. Any advice? Any great suits you can suggest? I've seen girls much larger than I am rock a bikini and look sexy as hell. I know it is possible.

I've been looking at plus sized ones online. I need to find someone who carries them in store so I can try some on.

I follow fuller figure fuller bust on FB - she's great for finding items for all shapes. Places like Bravissimo might be able to help but normally the brand will say on their website where they are stocked - or email them x

I like the look of the high waisted ones in pics. I have yet to find one in a store around here. I thought they'd be all over. I may have to break down and order online and if it doesn't fit, send it back.

I didn't think you were allowed to try bikinis on. Most UK stores won't allow it.

If you wanted a one piece, do they do swimwear for tall women where you are?

There's a growing industry for tall clothing now, they seem to have finally caught on!

Pretty sure I wouldn't try any kind of swimwear on, interesting reading.

Dr. Philip Tierno, a clinical professor of microbiology and pathology at New York University’s School of Medicine, has conducted research on the micora and human secretions found on a variety of clothing items bought in stores, from underwear to dresses. Predictably, he found a slew of filth, including skin, fecal and respiratory tract bacteria, along with vaginal organisms like yeast. The articles of clothing that carried the most flora were swimsuits, underwear and other intimate items.

I am sure...but specialty swim suits are way more costly than I am willing to spend. See...this is why I can't find anything. I am a picky woman.

I got one! I tried on 4 different bottoms. One came up too high and looked stupid. Two were too low. One works...and I got a really cute top that makes my boobs like fantastic!
