I've just taken my time machine to 12-22-12 and can reassure people that it is not the end of the world, merely the First Uprising of the Toaster people.
Humanity is clinging on to victory over the Toasters, although they are slightly singed on one side and can't believe it's not butter. |

if you read into this properly, 2012 will not be the end of the world, it is only predicted as so because that is as far as the Mayan calendar was recorded. Then they got fed up and went to the pub |

Bloody stupid name "super moon", why cant they call it a "pretty close moon" or "as close as it gets moon"
There is nothing super about it, its just the same old moon just a bit closer than normal, there has been over a dozen in the last few hundred years and we are all still here.

Also 2012 is the Mayan equivalent of the year 2000 problem with computers. In any case if it is the end of the world not a lot you can do about it! |

Has anyone ever considered that when old Ah Balam was writing his calendar over 5,000 years ago that one day, as he was about to start his 5 millionth piece of parchment, he looked up and thought, "Ah, fuck this!", and he stopped writing. When he looked down he saw he'd stopped at 23/12/2012.
