AAAAAAARGH FUCK OFF AAAARGG.

36 hours and only had one. Used to be about 20 a day. Just felt the need to vent a bit.

Anyone else packing it in?

You get a certain itch to have another, i myself have tried but not hard enough, id like to stop sooner or later, just stay strong n you'll be fine, find an alternative (chewing gum)

I gave up 11 years ago, while I know it's hard try my approach everytime I fancied a cigarette I popped in a normal chewing gum and it helped

Keep it up!

I quit in January after smoking for almost 18 years. I kind of cheated by taking Champix which made the process so much easier than when I've tried before but quitting is well worth doing however you decided to go about it,

I actually think it's my 6 month anniversary today.

I gave up 7 years ago...

I didn't substitute the cravings with anything, I just did it cold turkey

best thing I ever did too! keep at it OP, it's worth it in the end

I gave up for the new year so i'm 6 months in now, still fancy one every now and again though i have not given in yet

I did pack up for 15 years then started again a couple of year ago

i don't think you ever totally get away from not wanting a fag, even after 15 years i still used to fancy one every now and again

Keep it up, OP. I'm sure it will be worth it. See it as a personal challenge and you're competing with yourself

Well I could barely eat with the pain so I wasn't gonna step outside for a smoke

Not sure if I'll stay off them. I might

I managed to stop eventually about 11 years ago. Had tried everything before gum patches needles etc but none ever worked.

The way that worked was having the best reason for giving up. It's was starting to effect my family's health. So started to stop smoking in certain places the bedroom the kitchen etc until I had to go outside the house for one so gradually cut down from 40+ a day.

When I had tried before and had didn't work I ended up smoking more. This time when I had 1 I didn't beat myself up about it just accepted it has having 1. The gaps got longer and longer between smokes until I stopped altogether.

Easter just around the corner!

You're doing really well,I've never smoked so I don't appreciate how hard it is to stop, but kissing a non smoker is so much nicer

36 hours that's nearly 2 days, 2 1/2 days is half a working week, 5 days is ...

keep going 2 weeks and you have it

Had my last "proper" smoke just over two weeks ago, but have been vaping since, although can honestly say I've not had any compunction in that time to go back to Messrs Lambert & Butler. Normally by this time when I've quit before, I'm climbing walls!!

Am currently on 1.2mg nicotine vape liquids, although plan is to cut that back over time and eventually quit the vaping too.

Hi OP, I'm 2 months to the day quitting cold turkey. I'll be completely honest day 3 to 5 was utter hell. I felt seriously ill, but it never gets any worse. The second week had issues sleeping but it's the price you pay for all those years of pleasure! Hold in for a couple more days and it will get easier, it's not that long!!

i start crying within about 24 hrs of not having a cig. it's an emotional crutch for me.

have cut down cigs by half just by keeping busy and not being online all the time. wouldn't mind quitting altogether.

Thanks for the support. Kind of helping. Still sweating like Gary Glitter in Mothercare. Trying the e-cig but frankly it's like giving a smackhead a bottle of Calpol.
