little house on the praire

When i was a little girl my dad was a huge boxing fan in the days when ali and joe frasier and all big ones where at their height.

It was before anything was ever televised. All the boxing fans would hire a bua and go and watch the fighta on the cinema in leicester. Usually in the middle of the night and he would wake us up to tell us about it when he got in. I remember when ali changed his name

As an ex boxer I've seen thousands of fights some memorable others not so

Manila was probably my favourite Ali fight.

The first Duran - Leonard fight for me

The first Leonard - Hearns fight

My favourite fights that featured a British boxer include

McGuigan - Pedroza if you consider Barry to be British rather than Irish.

Benn- McClellan what a scrap with terrifying ending.

Watt - Pitalua, or Watt - Arguello both excellent bouts with different endings for my neighbour

With a wee bit more time I can add memorable fights from

Bruno

Conteh

Calzaghe

Graham

Benn

Eubank

Honeyghan

Watt

Buchanan

Magri
