Ah the joys of sky plus - you can just stick it on pause, go stick the kettle on or have a bathroom break then fast forward to the next part of the prog! Avoiding ads has never been easier and thats why I think they have started 'product placement' during the programmes.

The Co-Op ones really annoyed me, that really smug stupid couple chatting saying how they want to do more exciting things at the weekend other than the weekly shop. If the shop has such a big impact on your 'free time' get online, job done.

Most adverts are invariably awful. I find radio ads the worst because they're more difficult to avoid.

I do find that Dave V Lately Yellow Pages one quite sweet though. The inestimable J R Hartley updated as aged raver.

They should bring back the old 80s ones. We spent 3hrs on Saturday morning you-tubing them and had a great laugh

NatWest advert. Oh how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.

Bunch of sanctimonious jerks who pretend to like helping people. Not for nothing were they known as Crap West and they have the brass neck to show various recruits bleating on about their "service charter".

Truly toe-curling in my OP.

Funny thing is I thought autoglass went into administration so why are they still advertising?

I generally start recording anything I am interested in then actually start watching it 15 minutes later.

So if a program starts at 9 and finishes at 10, start watching at 9:15, skip ads and finish at 10!

The advert for the Dettox soap pump! So fookin what if the pump top has bugs on it! You are about to wash your hands FFS!!!

Also the Vanish Anti Bac advert where the kid is playing in the sheet. (Just for info, his name is Fabian and he is our son-in-laws nephew) The ad says about the germs in the sheet that might be there... again... FFS! You have just been sleeping in that fookin sheet! Your bed WILL still have bugs from you and the sheet unless you Anti Bac the whole thing!!

Way too many Anti Bac products on the market and young kids have no chance to buil immunity!

"Some adverts are bloody aweful (gocompare, 118 118 etc) but you remember them. Brilliant marketing wouldnt you agree."

Yeah, that's true... if they're only interested in brand recognition then the adverts have done their job.

But some adverts really wind me up, such as Go Compare, to the point where I've sworn to not use them even if I find out they're cheaper/better/sexier than the alternatives.
