Brighton - even Hove!

Massachusetts and the disco ones like 'staying alive'

For such a successful and wealthy family, they've had quite a lot of bad luck.

Also amazing the volume of music they wrote for other people too......I think there was one week about 1977 that like 12 out of the top 40 were written by them. Not sure if that was here or in the states (could be one or two out numbers wise...I read it so where a while back). Either way they influenced music for an age....

yes, i listened to a radio6 thing on them ages ago...i thought i knew their music but i was amazed at some of the music that was written by them...always seemed fairly grounded, nice people whenever you saw them speak..

At the moment i (nellie) like immortality best but that changes as i listen to different songs.

Hubby isn't keen on them ... i think it's a generation thing.

It makes me sad that such talented people are now dead ... except one of them.

I'm not a fan, but whenever I hear "Staying Alivw" on the radio or tv, it doesn't remind me of the John travolta movie at all...

I always get the image in my head of Robert Hays dancing to it in "Airplane!"

Lol

"Has anyone seen the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?"

Yes, and it's nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be - a rather odd film yes, but still watchable, Cucumber Castle is also interesting, written by and starring a very young Barry and Maurice (sadly Barry and Robin had fallen out at the time), it's one of the strangest comedies I have ever seen, it makes Monty Python look serious!

"you win again is my absolute all time favourite BeeGees tune.."

Personally I prefer the similar sounding Ordinary Lives, have a listen, it's awesome.

I love the Bee Gees, I'm genuinely sad that I never got the chance to meet all three together.

Man alive don't tell me it's not that bad, you'll put me off watching it. I believe the entire film is on YouTube.

I watched it recently, as I mentioned, it's actually pretty good, largely for just how bizarre it is to watch the boys in such a strange setting - they even fight a legendary American band!

I've always liked their music, not so much the personality of Barry Gibb though, too far up his own arse.

The interview where they walked out on Clive Anderson is a classic.
