I've just established contact with a French lady who wants to phone me on my mobile when I'm in Agde. I'm a total dimwit on this...does she dial 00 44 and then my number???

Isn't 00 the country code? You'll have to have a practice with various combinations.

From a mobile you can dial plus 44 - where plus is the symbol for it. International access codes vary but it's 00 from European countries.

Yes, 0044 drop the first 0 of your phone number ie 0044 7123 123456
