Is it too hard to say something short and sharp like.."like your message will respond later"?

I do it, as if I've read it n it's a good message, I mark it as unread so Billy can see it.

"Is it too hard to say something short and sharp like.."like your message will respond later"?"

Yes, it is;

Some people may have 20.+ messages like that: or perhaps they are still considering it.

If you keep stressing about it, you will only feel worse......

Because I don't want to reply at that very minute and I don't want mardy follow up messages asking me why I haven't replied at that very minute.

Or because I won't want to reply full stop.

Or it's because some single men watch their sent messages like hawks and throw hissy fits about them.

For me it can be it is a message I want to respond to but don't have the time, I'll just save it for later if it's something quick like a thanks but no thanks it would just be just that then deleted. Your thinking way too much into it. I've never used the saved messages Barr to save details of a organised social details.

Cause i clicked by mistake. Because it deserves a proper repky later. Or because i intend to delete when thr sender is less likely to notice and have a pop.

We do it loads. Means we ar coming back to it. More to the point, if the sender is watching it for an instantaneous reply, then I think he/she is going to be pushy and not for us.

"Why not just delete it..and if they continue to bug you, block them."

i do block people if i'm not interested and they message me too much but i try not to because i don't want a big blocklist.

no point inconstantly deleting messages every minute though and messages are coming every minute, sometimes a few, sometimes nothing for a while but it's just not convenient to delete every single thing. i used to go through my inbox and take my time reading everything, deleting everything i wanted to delete, then reply to the people i wanted to chat to. used to take me an hour or two to get through my inbox so now i don't.

i check my inbox from time to time, am constantly in it if chatting. otherwise i unread anything i am not interested in and leave it. sometimes i leave it because i intend to reply later, sometimes i just don't want the sender to know i've read and ignored it.

everyone uses this site the way they want to in a way that suits them. if they don't reply take it as not interested.

There's been a couple of occasions when I've deleted sent messages that haven't been opened. Then get a response ages later. By that time I've forgotten what I said in the message. So I've deleted their reply.

2. Dont want them to know that I have read their message

You Dont Need to Know, right now

"They can save it, then they won't lose it"

Only site supporters can 'save' received messages. Non-site supporters will often 'mark as unread', so that they can use the 'delete all read' button to clear the dross out of their inboxes. Assume it's a compliment, more often than not - they don't think your message is dross!

Sometimes timing, sometimes trying to think of a response

Sometimes easier to leave as marked unread

So you don't get the usual stroppy well you read why haven't you responded answered by me saying I was responding to other messages followed by the block.

"Please tell me why"

Because we can. Some people are very needy and want a reply straight away. I don't always have time for message tennis, so marking it as unread gives me the option of chatting at a later time.
