I've only just managed to watch an episode of the new series of Top Gear and I have to say it is absolutely s@#t..I really can't believe how bad it actually is..yes Jeremy was a cock and always said inappropriate things but bwoy he knew how present a show and the combination of him, hamster and may was priceless.
Chris Evans and mat let blanc just don't work for me,they just don't have that Top Gear factor or maybe I'm just used to the old guys . What's everyone's take on the new series? |

I watched about 10-15 minutes before I turned it off. It's just not the same now. Never liked Chris Evans.
Am gonna have to get Amazon Prime sorted to watch the new one, the name escapes me right now! But there's always the repeats on Dave lol |

Was surprised they didn't do a much better job of the first show.
I like Evans and I think he will his feet.
LeBlanc was excellent and wil be the star of the show.
Need to change it up a bit or they are just inviting bad comparisons by copying the old formula too much.
I remember the old Top Gear being shit for the first series so I'm prepared to give this one a little time to settle in. |

Disappointing wasn't it, it felt soulless patchy and bland. Evans was overenthusiastic for much of it. I'm surprised it was broadcast when you consider how long they have had to put it together and get it right. Shame really! |

I think people are being harsh, it's the same producers so same format, they're hardly likely to change what was the top selling programme. You Evans was irritating, he always is! I thought Matt le blanc was very dry and I liked that. Overall not as bad as everyone made out, the old team worked based on their friendship and banter, that will take time to bed in between them. Then they add a third and everyone will stop moaning |

I watched part of it (then turned off).
It struck me as trying too hard, really quite sad and pathetic to be honest.
In fact it rather reminded me of the bitter divorcee throwing the first party after an acrimonious divorce to show they were the winners. Who knows they have been given the house (studio) that is a draughty old heap they will soon be parted from, and the family dog (stig) that their partner was not really attached to (had previously had 2 former family dogs put down for shitting in the house) and the family business name. But lost everything of real value like their partner and children (who are the business and laid the golden egg).
Meanwhile their partner and children (Hamster and May) have already moved on to a new and younger model (Amazon) and can be heard smugly saying that they wish there old partner the best in the relaunch of the business they spent years building. So will not be going into direct competition, but are even using that announcement to publicise the fact that the old team will be back shortly after their ex has failed to prove that they could do it without them.
Just my opinion mind.

I thought that the presenters tried too much to be the old presenters. The show is dated anyway and although the 2nd incarnation was funny Clarkson's right wing views put me off watching.
Trouble is I cannot see how they can change it the original to gear was purely an information programme, which was why the BBC pulled it the first time and 5th gear was born, it was Clarkson that started the new format. |

I got to the part when Mr LePlonker started giving a review of the broken down Three Wheeler he was in and I felt like throwing the TV through the window. So to save my sanity and a lot of mess I turned off the iplayer!

In my opinion.
I would have liked to see a completely new show.
Start from scratch again with new place new ideas new theme etc.
Get rid of The Stig and come up with something completely new from scratch.
Then we could judge it on its own merits instead of it trying to copy whats has passed and also if we are honest? A very tired old show that is Top Gear.
A complete refresh is my opinion would be better than what they are trying to do with it.

I watched it last night and in my opinion Matt wasn't bad, actually thought his segment was well made and he did a decent job of making it his own.
However Chris annoys me at the best of times. By sticking to the same old format they made a mistake. It constricted the team too much and we must remember the format was created by and for Clarkeson.
It'll find its feet in time. However the 3 are back on Amazon soon and if you have a way to watch I suspect their silence hints to a hit. |
