Confession is good for the soul so go and see the bollocker as soon as you can, fess up and get it over with.
You will gain some respect for that. If they have to come and find you it only gets worse. |

That sucks 
I would do everything I could to try and fix it and/or mitigate the problem. Then I'd go and confess while also saying what steps were taken to mitigate.

Aww sure we all make an odd mistake. I always think well.does my mistake cos any major impact. Is someone going to get hurt, is someone going to die...if no, and everyone will live, so will you. These things are uncomfortable, yes, but just take the bolloxing, and lesson learned. No harm done.
