Friday, trip to the hairdressers-- cut colour and blow dry. I was happy with service and looked great so when I was told 'that's £130.00 please' I was happy to pay up. But then came that moment of whether to tip or not?
Now, I'm not mean but I've just given over £130.00 quid!!!! I've paid for a good service, have I not?
Anyway, I left a tip as thought I should but got to thinking that I have been just as pleased with the service I have received when buying shoes or clothes and have never got to the till and said, hang on let me pay you more!!!!!!!! When my car is serviced, I'm happy but again I don't pay more than the bill.
So today when I had my nails done I paid the bill (51.00) and no more------- now feeling guilty.
So my question is to tip or not to tip for everything or are some tips just expected

The salon would obviously be making money anyway but if you have had great service from a particular person I see no reason not to give them a tip, if you can afford it. However at those prices I wouldn't! My haircut costs £16, I've often told her to keep the change out of a twenty
I wouldn't feel guilty OP I don't think anyone expects to be tipped these days |

Tip when they have earned it only.
Why should certain individual get tips and others not.
Put it this way, people we traditionally tip: taxi drivers, barbers/hairdresser. They go on more holidays then most other people. Yet you feelnbad for not tipping.
Excellent service earns a tip.
Poor service gettinf no tip is a clue thatvthey newd to try harder.
And the old excuse oh but they earn low wages. Whatcabout all those minimum wage factory workers..?
Dont feel bad you didnt tip, feel good that you saved some money.

Once the cost of mine reached £6 and I had to either ask for change, or leave a WHOLE tenner, I bought clippers and do it myself now.
"How do you cut the back?" I hear you ask?
Very badly

I believe that businesses should pay a fair wage to their staff. But sometimes businesses don't, and though I'd rather avoid using them altogether I'll sometimes be in a pinch.
So I do tip then, because it isn't the fault of the staff. |

I have long hair, have a full bleach and multi colours, cut and blow dry and still comes in at less than £100.
As for tipping, always restaurant staff if they've given good service. Always cash, never on a card.
Occasionally other service providers too, but not often. |

More worried about what I was charged now as have short hair, the tip seems the least of my worries lol, had my hair done at Lakeside, where do you get yours done? |

Think I'd better duck out having spent £61 on a manicure and pedicure today. Hair (cut and colour) will be another ~£90 in a couple of days
Needless to say neither gets done on a regular basis |
