He's 7 and now has been missing for four days. They made him get out of the car for throwing stones. Then drove 500 metres. When the dad went back for him he had disappeared. What is wrong with people. I hope he is found alive. Makes my blood boil. |

Eh, I've found out over the last few days that parents simply can't watch their kids all the time. But I don't have kids so I'm not sure I'm allowed to discuss the matter. |

You are allowed to discuss the matter, often people who don't have children can put things into perspective. |

Go read the story - the area they left him in is inhabited by bears!!
I do believe in disciplining children who are genuinely naughty/misbehaving (are old enough to know what they are doing is wrong or unacceptable) but I would never leave them in a bloody forest!!! Then lie about it for a few hours |

"my parents did this to me!
I think we have more problems due to a lack of discipline than the other way around. "

Yes, if the kid fell out of the car. (This happened to a mate of mine, he fell out of his parents car window and they didn't notice for quite a bit!)
Deliberately leaving a kid on their own in a dangerous situation is very different.
And yes, throwing stones IN a car?! |

I think I need a list of things we expect parents to take responsibility for regarding their child. Whatever is not on the list I will assume is just an act of god. |

"so should wanes be on a lead ? "
I was a leash baby. When we were in public I was on a lead which was held by my mother or father. I'm not saying everyone needs it, but it isn't a crazy notion. |

My kids had those back packs with leads on them when they were young
I found them better than the wrist straps because the kids don't feel like they are being tied into |

That works with 1 and maybe 2 year olds. My kids could undo them and get out fairly fast certainly by 2 and a half. |
