How self aware are you? How well do you actually know yourself?
For the purpse of my little curiosity id like two things.
If your answer is very say the age you think you became self aware.
If your answer is not very state your age now.
Thankyou in advance
I would say im very self aware and i was 48 when i got to the point |

I'm kind of in the middle - I've been fairly deep since I was about 7 or 8, when I used to ponder on people, as well as myself, how we thought, behaved etc - and used to imagine different theories and ways of testing them. I was a bit of a challenge as a kid, as I wasn't particularly controllable, unless it suited me, and liked to explore.
I like to understand myself, even if it doesn't really improve upon anything. I guess there are less surprises potentially in store.
Whatever my self-awareness, I still overlook the obvious or what I don't really want to see some of my biases. |

I'd say I'm very self-aware and probably have been since I was at least 15. I had a fairly rough time at school, and I think that actually helped me understand both myself and how my actions impact on others. We all have 'blind-spots' in our personality I guess, but my self-awareness has always been something I've particularly liked about myself. I'm 32 now. |

I'm hindsight self aware... I'm pretty thoughtless most of the time tbh. Never really thought about it though until now.
Great now I'm gonna go into thinking mode and it's too hot for that.. Thanks OP |

Paging Dunning-Kruger....
I'm professionally self-aware, certainly, that's just bludgeoning experience.
In my personal life, I'm not sure - maybe more than I would like to be. I suppose it's good to see pitfalls up ahead, but sometimes I'm wary or risk-averse even. It's not always a positive trait that's for sure. |

"do you think you need experience to be self aware in how well you know yourself?"
I don't think so, but experience is the only thing that will test it. I can think of a handful of occasions where my strongest principles have been put to the test, and while it's one thing to say "I would never...", you don't truly know until it's dangled in front of you. |

Its only going tbrough the experiences ive found out and it wasnt until i was 48 i could prepare myself for how i deal with different things |

"I'm fairly self aware, it started at around 22 when I started reading philosophy. It made me question a lot of things."
Yes, same for me when I developed an interest in psychology and started to study it in my late twenties. |

Lucky to bumble through life without it bothering me until someone points a camera at me then become almost paranoidily self aware. I'm not being facetious it feels awful. |

That's more self-conscious though isn't it? |
