About travel insurance..... the higher the excess, the lower the payment is or a lower excess and higher payment - what is best to go for?????

Depends if you can afford the higher excess? I'd always go for higher excess and lower payments, but make sure im ultra careful....

Go for what you can afford. I'm not sure what you're struggling with?

High excess..you break a leg n they take forever trying to get out of paying.

Low excess they take slightly less time trying to get out of paying.
