"Allopurinol or indomethacin. Had for seven years now. Feet, ankles and fingers.
At least you can walk."
Allopurinol
I was on cherry juice until about a week ago, it seemed to have cleared up. I need to wait for the cherry juice to kick back in. |

You need anti inflammatory Meds plus allopurinol (available prescription only).
Meantime... get some cold packs (frozen peas will do) and wrap your knuckles up in the ice. Leave it 20 minutes. Repeat several times daily or as often as you can tolerate. You need to drink LOADS of water and NO alcohol, fatty foods, sweets or seafood. They increase your uric acid which is causing the gout. You need to LOWER the uric acid levels to get relief.
.....and put your phone down!!

I've been using cherry juice for a while, that has been the most effective way of relieving the symptoms. I had a major dietary change and cut out all sugar except, fruit and no carbs. I might have got everything out of balance |

"Do you not keep coltrazine in for flair ups and know not to double up on allupurinal when having a flare up?
At least in your knuckles you can still walk, could be worse"
It's always fairly mild , I never get flair ups, this came on suddenly |

Feel for you dude, I get it and had it since my early 20s, have a constant supply of colchicine and allopurinol. Only 300mg at the moment.
Tried the pineapple, cherry active products none work. I hardly drink, eat foods with high purines. Mushrooms, spinach, cheese, Port, seafood.
When I get a flare up I take ibuprofen which helps a teeny tiny bit and alternate between that and paracetamol max dosage.
Not had it in knuckles, so far in elbow, ankle, achilles, big/little toe. |

I usually get it in my knuckles, then knees and elbows. I get enough in my big toe to feel it but no more than that.
Concentrated cherry juice seems to be best at keeping it under control. I stopped taking it when I started the no sugar/carbs diet a couple of weeks ago.
My no sugar diet might need tweaking |

I have it in my big toe and when it's that bad I can't even have the duvet on it.
Find diet keeps it at bay. But it means cutting out everything I enjoy. Can't imagine how much it hurts in the knuckles. |

Ouch, sounds painful OP. I was hospitalized for 3 days last month with an as yet undiagnosed condition but one of the possible prognosises was gout (although another Dr said it wasn't!) so if your pain was anything like mine I know what you're going through. It was in one ankle and I couldn't walk at all.
I hope it gets better for you soon. |

Just noticed a slight swelling, might be from a thorn in the garden yesterday. Didn't hurt at the time though.
I'm trying to up my fluid intake. Finding it hard drinking more than 3 litres |
