So having a look at a few profiles and the amount of rules people have put is quite unbelievable and for me is off putting. Don't get me wrong got no problem with 2 or 3 but when it fills your screen sorry but it's very off putting for me and just skip your profile before i finish reading. Seems to me your missing the point of being on here is to have a little fun not to be weighed down by being so serious.

I don't think people start off with them, I think that over time and through bad experiences they build up and become a list if stuff they don't want to happen to them again.

There are so many fantasists and messers on here, and sometimes it's hard to distinguish them from the genuine folk, but over time you learn to spot them.

I actually feel for the rule writers cos they must have met some right toss pots!

To be honest, when I'm meeting I have two guidelines for single men - be 30+ and 6ft+... I always have that in the first line, and so many men ignore that alone that I don't bother with more rules.

That's true I didn't think about the bad experiences that they might have had which lead to the rules.

Lyndhurst

some of these rules do seem a bit petty.

I don't think mine are though.

after being on here for six years I know you have to be careful and not just meet anyone especialy as I invite them to my house.

Why moan? If it puts you off, then you would not be compatible in any event.

They express their do's and don'ts, likes and dislikes for a reason. We do, too. What would be the point of us meeting a straight man? It is not what we're looking for. What would be the point in us meeting people who are unshaven? We wouldn't have sex with them.

If we didn't express the things that are important to us, meetings would be a disaster.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

People should be able to have whatever they like on their profile. I'd rather see a list of rules (however stringent) than a huge ASCII woman or palm tree, but each to their own.

Those are dreadful!

As far rules - they're an aspect of someone, for whatever reason. When the people don't fit for you, move on to the next. Or offer the a sympathy shag

I think some people start off with lots of rules and relax them as they become more comfortable.

People are all just different.
