What an insidious, lying creep.
The ex Greek leader has just basically ripped him to bits.....Blair also said he was always against us joining the Euro.....what total crap!
He was squirming, dodging, sweating....as an EX politician, discredited and out of touch...why do the BBC give him airtime? |

Not the first time chilcot and buried have appeared in the same sentance..... |

You don't win elections by being unpopular, you win them based on manifesto promises. None of those manifestos included war crimes |

I third that.
I will never forget the way David Kelly was ripped to shreds when trying to explain that the threat was exaggerated. Poor man. Truth and politics never mix well it seems. |

funny that the people he wanted to topple are now part of the terrorist threat to us.
To me Blairs biggest con was telling us he is sorting out immigration whilst having an open door policy. |

i did in the first 2 but not after the war, had a Labour MP try and convince me otherwise in the strangers bar in '97 during a visit that he wasn't a 'used car salesman' which was my opinion of the guy..
'new Labour' were elected with the support of 'middle England/Britain' voters and those voters used to and probably now vote Tory or UKIP..
hopefully Chilcott will shed some light on the truth about some of the events..

"I think you might find the chilcot report is going to be a non blaming report.
I'm sure that was part of the deal"
i think you might find that it may well be another waste of public money and less severe in its criticisms than many of us would want..
one will see..
if anyone expects Blair to be hauled before the Hague to face any charges or even to accept he was wrong then they will be sorely disappointed as it wont happen and its not in his nature..

I'm afraid you should have paid more attention to what he said in many speeches in 98/99/2000/2001.
He very quietly went around America and Europe saying the middle East needs regime change...i say that but he worded it nicer...the middle East needs democracy!
Yeah great democratise Saudi Arabia let's see what happens |

I find it a laugh that all those so called "good honest working class lifelong labour supporters" who voted the twat in are now trying to dissown him and put distance between him & them!. |

Blair has to be one of the most unpopular prime ministers of the last century, I rarely hear positive remarks about him.
I can't wait to read the Chilcot report. But I know that any criminal proceedings are out of the question. Even if the UK didn't have such impunity in international affairs, it's impossible to indict Blair for anything. |

The trouble is since John Major we have not had a prime minister that has got any respect from me, they have just said anything to get elected and have all been career politicians, perhaps we have to blame the PC brigade for this as any that open their mouths and say anything remotely controversial they get slated, made to apologise etc this has led the various parties to pick bland slimy tv friendly leaders that wont stand up and tell the truth, although I would naturally be a tory supporter I turn the telly over when "Dave" comes on he is as bad as balir in my eyes |

Without his policies we wouldn't have seen the rise of UKIP, which you seem to dislike so much and we probably wouldn't be having a referendum. |

In response to the other thread, my son is 13, takes French at school and speaks pretty good Spanish, taught by myself from an early age after I'd spent several years living in Spain and still have a home and many Spanish friends there. His cousins are half Italian and they often joke or call eachother names in those languages and because I want out of the EU you call me a xenophobe? And don't want the best for him? You really don't know or understand anything of the problems in the EU. You think there are jobs in the EU for our children? The way the EU is run and is heading there simply aren't and it will only get worse. Can you explain why there is 50% youth unemployment in Spain? And probably the same in Greece, Italy, Portugal and probably before long France? The only way to help the youth of Europe is for a Brexit which will hopefully bring about a complete reform of the EU into what we signed up for in the first place, ie trade. Then the end of the Euro which has been a disaster for pretty much everyone other than the Germans.
If you think people who want to leave the EU are xenophobes then I think the problem is more your perception of the world |

Agree on the Euro but the reason Greece is up the shitter is only partially to do with the EU and a lot more to do with the tragic way the country is run by its bloody awful domestic politicians. |

agree on Greece but it does beg the question why they were let into the EU and allowed to join the Euro without massive reforms to their system being signed up to..
also the whole of the joining the Euro was a fudge for many countries as they did not meet the criteria of the debt to GDP ratio, i believe.. |

Yup. They shouldn't have been let in and I'd kick them out tomorrow. Best for all involved. It does say a lot about the incompetence / corruption of the EU that they were let in. I'm still for resolving that incompetence than throwing the baby out right now. Domestic politicians are hardly awesome... |

"War criminal " Blaire was not a war criminal,he was a lying two faced guy who bankrupted this country by conning people into thinking they where well off but all done on borrowing. He bankrupted the nation that is why we are suffering now,not because of tories hating the masses as some like to think, they have had no choice thanks to Blaire and Brown.
This is his main crime |

Firstly there was a reason why you got 800 drachma to the pound!!.
Or 2500 lira or 200 peseta...
You see there's a history of devaluation which is what unstable countries do, its how sovereign nations with "problems" keep going...... now if your Germany, with a very strong currency thanks to being stable and a massive exporter... You want them just like that, there not worth joining up with, if they have a strong currency as well, that's why the EU broke all the rules letting these countries join in, the Germans want to keep the euro low. Devalued currency only fucks you up when you have to import stuff... And when you run an entire continent on that currency the dream was you'd never import much but you'd export shit loads with your artificially lowered euro.
Now anybody that ever visited Greece or Spain pre euro will tell you the prices there were considerably lower running there own devalued currency, when the change came, prices rose but the gdp didn't, that wouldn't last long, so they let them borrow and they let them borrow at German rates because effectively Greece, Spain and Italy were now backed by the mighty mark.
When you sign up to your Faustian bargain you really should read the small print |

When you sign up to your Faustian bargain you really should read the small print"
Exactly this......and when the Euro inevitably crashes..as it must (the previous two Bank of England governors have said this...the current one says what DC says)...the crash will bring the EU down with it....and if we are part of the EU...then we go down with it! Inevitably. |
