You mean an attraction, that comes primarily from pictures but also from getting to know someones personality through contact.

People don't always look like their photos though.
Maybe they look hot all serious and pouty on their profile, but the second they smile on a meet they lose about 98 attraction points.
And I've met people I was wasn't attracted to and became attracted when we got talking.
Equally I've thought someone was really hot in ther photos. He turned up and I thought nah... and then we got talking and I was back to "fuck yeah".

Physically,if they haven't been photoshopped,yes. But,hotness is also part personality for me,so the illusion could be shattered on meeting. For instance I chatted to a man from a different online site,he had a super fit body,handsome face and good conversation. On meeting he was dressed nice and smelt lovely. When he spoke he sounded like an effeminate Lily Savage and waved his hands around a lot. I still fancied him but my illusion of his voice and personality matching his physique was well and truly shattered. |

I agree with this sentiment - that hotness is looks alone - but I don't think pictures really accurately tell you how someone looks all the time. Some people are amazing at taking pics and look hot as hell, but then you meet them and they're just not all that. Other people take pics really badly but are naturally beautiful when you meet them.
So for me pictures haven't been a reliable indicator of hotness. Though they are the best we've got on the Interne, I'll admit. |

This site has chat rooms with that facility.. There used to be 'Canada Invasions' once in a blue moon where forum users would invade one chat room so we could all see each other.
Some were brave to go on cam, others just watched. |

I have no problem telling if someone is hot from their pics providing they are clear. I can honestly say I've been attracted to everyone I've met and I've based my judgement on how they look from their pictures and how the conversation flows....so yes. Yes I can. I have discovered from reading the forum that not everyone is good at this and they need to actually meet the person. |

for me to 'Fancy' someone or want to meet them id have to take the holistic approach.. and include things like
if i found them attractive,
if their profile stood out to me,
if i had any encounters in the forum/messages from them in the past..
I can very much find someone HOT/Attractive based soley on looks..
It could easily be ruined with their personality (or lack of it) |

Very often, people do not always look like their photos. Every single time my wife has went to meet a single guy, it turns out that the photo is 10 years old, or they simply do not look like they do in the pic. There is lots of photo trickery to make oneself look better.
Also, personality is a HUGE determining factor! What good is it to be gorgeous if you are snobby, arrogant, smelly, creepy, uber weird, or stalker-ish!?? What a woman acts like or says has a lot to do with whether or not I find her attractive.
That said, I hate when I look at a profile, and ALL of the pictures are blurry. What's that about??

Had plenty meets where PIC seemed good but no attraction when we met on my part. You need to be beside someone to know if the chemistry is sizzling......

I can look at a pic and think someone is hot in a theoretical sense. Those that I have gone on to talk to and found actually hot as a personality have always been physically hot to me when I've met them so in those circumstances I have been right. |

No, though they may have been hotter 20 years ago, when taken - I often hear such reports, where they think the dad's turned up, to apologize and explain that his son couldn't make it.
Otherwise there are some ugly personalities and people can have good angles, as well as days that show them at their peak. |

I agree wholeheartedly with the above. I meet a bloke regularly that I didn't fancy from his pics. He's not my type on paper at all and yet he's so freaking hot? I wish I could bottle his sexyness x

What i was wondering.....why meet someone you don't find Attractive from their pics??
