Philanthropy?

If you had the time and money to become a Philanthropist, what would be your contribution to the world?

Me, I would like to buy whole streets or areas of boarded up houses, and adapt them for injured military.

I'd also like to buy country villages and provide low rent housing for locals who have been priced out by second home owners and help bring the whole village community feeling back.

There is a charity in southern Utah called Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. I'd open up another one of those.

I would set up a fund to finance people who want to be philanthropists.

Im with you, always want to help animals, I used to stalk deer for food until I shot a huge stag, the beauty of that stag and what I had done hit home and I no longer stalk.

I am on the police register for the human killing of animals should a deer run onto a road and be hit with serous injury, a thing the police could do themselves if they had any common sense

but all in all I have seen the error of my ways and look to do kindness to all animals, even although I do still eat meat.

Hospitals for sick kids. Lots of staff, warm comforting conditions, lots of toys and games. Kids are the future, so I'd want to play my part in making them strong and happy, so they could one day bring those qualities to the future with them.

That is nice

I think I'd invest in proper education and skills training in this country. Get us back on track and back on our feet as a world leading and productive nation.

I would renovate rundown houses and rent them to low income families. Also low interest loans to start up small businesses. The profits would be used to renovate more houses and more loans.

little house on the praire

Id have cat retirement homes so the owners know they are being looked after if they have to go into care.

Also buy up boarded houses and turn them into bedsits for the homeless ( more to this project but to much to type)

Set up work shops to teach people self worth

I will partly do this soon hopefully, but I've always wanted to set up a sports foundation for disadvantaged kids from poor inner city communities.

I used to manage an under 16 football team, and our star striker was getting knackered by half time, I found out that his financial situation meant he could either pay his subs or pay bus fare, so he was walking 6 miles to get to the pick up, he scored every game after I said I'd pick him up and pay his subs, money well spent in my opinion, great lad, with an unstoppable attitude, he's playing semi professional football now and doing great, it makes me wonder how many more kids are barred from pursuing a career in sport because of poverty, England's problematic left side probably has a solution sitting at home dreaming of playing right now.

So yeah, I'd get inner city youth into sport

A tad off topic, but I like to see support for all products be thoroughly tested for long term affects before they are released.

Sure the costs of goods will be higher, but it's a price I'm willing to pay..

Out ward bound centers for inner city children.

So.they can get out in the countryside and try new things. Canoeing, climbing , walking all sorts of fun things.

Build their confidence and capture their imaginations

I'd help the homeless, somehow.

And give money to the local Hospital SCBU, as they were good to me when my firstborn was poorly.
