Are men that desperate that they will travel any distance?

Having a discussion with a fab friend about this. What's your thoughts on it?

I've met a few guys who have travelled quite a distance to meet me.Obviously these meets are not spur of the moment meets and have been planned a couple or weeks or so in advance. Bearing in mind I like to chat to a guy for a bit to get to know him. My friend says that most guys on here are that desperate for a meet they will travel any distance but I tend to disagree. I mean surely a guy isn't going to travel let's say a 6 hour round trip just to get laid is he, or do they?

Though really it's a case of arranging meets at places I am travelling to anyway.

If I do travel I would make the most of the trip, Not just go to get laid,

Do some sight seeing/something I have always wanted to see or stay in a nice hotel etc

I don't meet Women that often but am not going to travel a long distance just for a fuck and go,

On another point, Why are threads always about Men being desperate or saying something stupid etc I know the site has more of them but there are couples/Women etc on here as well

I suppose it could be looked at a couple of ways. Some people would be prepared to travel a long distance for a relationship, so to do that then they must really Like the person they are meeting and really want to spend time with them.

On the other hand they may be so desparate for a shag that distance doesn't matter as long as they get to thunder through shepherds bush on a pogo stick

I'd say the first is more likely though.

Max I have travelled for a meet was about 50 miles... But that was to a couple, and they put me up and sorted breakfast out for my trouble.

I've done similar distance for parties (with hosts I already knew, and who had attended my parties previously)...and took a FB with me to the parties and stayed over to make a weekend of it.

Normally I wouldn't consider a one to one meet beyond say 30 miles/1 hour travel. As there is enough clunge more local to need to bother.

Travelling to me? For a party....from Scotland and Kent. For one to one...from Blackpool but I had been recommended to her lol....and I also included breakfast and went out for lunch before she went home.

Depends on the individual really ... However, I think it is rare someone would be desperate ... I think it would be the quality over quantity thing.

I personally have made a five hour round trip but I had other local offers I could have taken I just wasn't interested in them. So I would like to think others who travel as such would be in the same boat.

In my younger days i used to travel lot further. Now I limit myself at max hours drive.

Dont think I would class myself as desperate in my younger days but had more drive and energy to travel 3 hours after work, have a meet and travel back home an hours sleep then work. Now I cant be bothered with that anymore

I wouldn't say desperation as such. But if you're having trouble meeting with people in your own area, surely this is what this site was made for? To allow you to meet likeminded people who will want to meet you but live further away from you and you normally would never have had the opportunity to meet them.

I struggle to get meets in my own area which is why I look further afield. Can make a nice day trip out for me as a minimum.

People travel hours to a club, pay for the club, pay for a hotel then travel hours back; now is that desperate? Or is it that they know what they want and are prepared to do what is needed to be done in order to get it? I'd go with the latter.

Why should a guy need to be desperate to travel ?

If there is a click with someone, sexual or otherwise, most people (not just men) will want to take it further.

That's human nature not desperation.

"Desperation" is definitely the wrong word.

When I worked in North Wales, Mrs ddc would regularly drive up from London to see me, even though it was a pig of a journey that generally took 6-8 hours on a Friday evening, and I'd generally have to work much of the weekend. Back then it was called "love".

So I can definitely understand anyone on here, male or female, travelling for the right person.

I wouldn't travel now because of my homelife situation, but if single I'd probably be up and down the Country like an eager beaver.

On the last swingers site I was on, I had men visit from all over, which is fine for one off meets but I deliberately chose this site as it has more local men, which is what I'm looking for now as it's easier for my limited availability.

I mean surely a guy isn't going to travel let's say a 6 hour round trip just to get laid is he, or do they?"

I'm the same... though I wouldn't say that the men I meet on here are "desperate" by any stretch of the imagination.

If I like someone then I’ll travel. Got a trip to Birmingham planned soon for a club night as I know it will be a good night and life is about experiences and fun, I’m not about to let a little bit of distance spoil it. I’m certainly not desperate for sex. I like having memories and experiences that I look back and smile on, I’m realistic enough to know this isn’t always going to happen in my own backyard.

Besides it’s only a small island and I used to be a courier so I’m ok with travelling and seeing new places.

That said...not met a woman that would do the same and visit me but they are subject to loads of offers...so they don't have to I guess.

What's quite a distance? A six hour trip isn't a long trip to me as I'm always travelling long distances with work and on my bikes.

I think it's all relevant. A long trip to one person is a short journey to another.

I don't think it's related to desperation

It's funny, but looking through the posts here one thing becomes clear. Many of the people that say they wouldn't travel far generally live in areas with a higher population density (large towns and cities) whereas the ones that are prepared to travel further afield mainly seem to be in less populous or rural areas.

So, maybe you don't feel you want to travel as far because you actually don't HAVE to - there are more potential meets within a smaller area, and others are ore prepared to travel as they have less local choice.

Maybe this sheds some light on it, maybe not.

I like to travel. I am single. I have free time. Why not get out and about and meet new people, seeing new areas along the way. Is that so bad?

For us, travelling is part of the fun, it isn't about desperation we just enjoy seeing new places and meeting new people. It is one of the reasons we have alot of friends all over the country, give us an excuse to see new places.

And meeting people from fab gives us an excuse to get a nice hotel, meet some new people and explore a new place. But it is an extra for us not a necessity for travel. Like next weekend we are travelling for racing, may try to meet someone or a couple near the place we are racing. Get a drink see how we get on kinda thing, its a good few hours from where we live but it's an excuse to meet new people, same as going to a club for us now
