So the US has kicked off the controversial "toilet gate" when it comes to transgender kids and which toilets they can use.

Where do you stand with this? Should kids use the toilet of the se they were born? Or the one they identify with??

I couldn't give a hoot which loo they use, we all have to go. With regard to adult transgende_ed people, the company my wife works for uses genetalia as the deciding factor. So if a transgende_ed guy is pretty op then "he" has to use male toilets.

And they are going to use a cubicle so what does it matter.

A bearded looking fellow in the ladies toilet? A lady in the gentlemans? Wouldn't that cause more of an issue?

(And even the police have said that they really have no idea how they will enforce it).

You are thinking about adults. The ruling was based around schools like changing rooms toilets. So same applies what are your thoughts for this in your kids schools

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Unisex toilets all the way. Might teach boys how to use them properly.

I don't get why we have separate toilets when we are out. We don't at home. I often go in the men's if there is someone in the ladies.

At some point I suspect schools here will have to adopt these measures.

The US ruling was about adults. Well, about toilets.

Here, we tend to go with what the person thinks. Children should be allowed to piss and poop in whatever toilet they feel most comfortable in. Not exactly going to turn the world upside down.

Identified gender, because unless there is a gender inspection on my he door then how are you gonna know, and just because someone is born in the wrong my body, is that reason for anyone to treat them with less respect, it's a toilet, what do you think is going to happen? Are there people who still think they have so much sex appeal, that they are going to get jumped on?

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Just have toilets and let people use them.

I've been to lots of places where this is the case and no problems.

Yep. Done it at twickers with about ten men standing at the urinals, done it at the train station afterwards cos the women's was across a bridge, done it all over the place and I always go to the toilet on my own

Yes it was an article I read about the history of the aberdeen bath house at the beach. It may have been on a plaque at the facility or may have been a news paper article. People used to go there to wash. Women one entrance and men the other.

So the women weren't caught in a state of undress heaven forbid the men saw a stockinged ankle.

My line of thought is separate bathrooms came from that.

I agree with you here. And for anyone who doesn't think this is all about religion in the US, they should try having some of the conversations I've had since I landed in nyc. They would soon see the reality of it.

I certainly do not speak for the entire USA, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I think that a lot of people over here still believe that any gay male or female is also a sexual deviant and pedofile. So you can only imagine what they think about transgende_ed people, cross dressers, or even bi-sexuals.

What I am trying to say is that anything other than a moderately religious heterosexual makes a lot of Americans nervous. They just don't know how to handle it, and in their minds, this whole bathroom thing is like having twisted freaks who are prone to commit sexual assaults in the same bathroom they are in....and they don't like it.

Again, that is not all Yanks opinions, or even most. But many people cannot fathom anything other than what they consider 'normal', so something like this causes uproar.

I LOVE that the toilets in VA is for men and women, and whoever else!

It's just refreshing and a nice change. Same with Pink Punters too.

The only problem I have is when you want to disappear off to talk about a guy you like with a mate, you can't chat in the toilets any more because they might walk in! Doh.

Lots of women use chatting in the toilets to deal with emotional crises, and they don't want the guys to see it so I can see why people would oppose totally mixed toilets. But fuck 'em, it would solve the entire issue!
