Comic Relief. Usually to a DEC appeal. Other than that, nope - schedule regular charity giving into the monthly budget instead.
Wow, I sound exciting. Um. I make my donations from a hang-glider. A rocket-powered hang-glider. With lasers... |

I don't buy anything just because it's been advertised on the tv, so I'm unlikely to donate to anything that someone else is trying to persuade me is a better cause than I already give to. Much as I would like to donate x amount to help this, or y amount to save that, I only have so much available for good causes, and have had a DD set up for the charity of my choice for the last 20 odd yrs. I tell this to street collectors as well. |

No, doesn't usually draw me in. I'm terrible, i I'm approached in the street I often ask questions they aren't sure how to answer:
'Do you personally donate to the charity?'
'How much of every pound I donate goes to direct work of the charity?'
'Why should I pick this charity over another?'
They often just wish they hadn't stopped me in the street, whereas I think they should know those answers really, I love charity but have to choose on a fair basis, in my opinion. TV ads put me off a little usually. |

I used to work in a call centre who answered the phones for a number of these campaigns and the answer is yes. Lots of people respond to these campaigns. Made scheduling a nightmare as we would be quiet for ages then alk of a sudden be mega busy!! |

I don't donate to the majority if charities on TV as they are generally in foreign countries that already receive aid from the UK, I do however donate to charities within our own country like help for heroes and cancer charities. |

Definitely no racism involved at all, I understand that there is suffering all over the world but there are also a lot of worthy causes within out own Country and I believe charity starts at home. |

"£2 a month to adopt a child in Africa, or £3 a month to adopt a tiger, no contest really, I've already got two black kids I've never had a tiger "
That made me laugh out loud for real... ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |
