Its been announced that porn web sites will have to verify the age of users.
Its unclear how they plan to implement this or what evidence users will have to provide. |

The countries law is 16, but due to many porn and also many internet domains belonging to America, it was decided that 18+ is the age of adulthood on the internet |

Might not be too easy technically but it would be easy for the government to implement...
As in health and safety law, make the executives of the company in question personally criminally liable if kids use their service. Give them a year to implement a system and watch it work.
In health and safety law if your company injures someone then you, as a director, can be prosecuted personally in the criminalmcourts.
This wouldmsort it out. |

Age verification by means of an already age verified mobile phone account. |

Them some computer savy kid gets around the company blockage by using a proxy server or a vpn, then it's about as much use as making hoverboards illegal. |

That would be utterly ineffective - most porn sites are hosted outside the UK, so they're not subject to UK criminal law. |

I'm pretty techie, they say it can't be done now but I strongly suspect they'd find a way pdq if they faced prosecution. |

Credit Card number. And to get around kids who steal their parents credit card, the card companies send an email to the card holder along the lines of "your card has been registered to anal fisters 5000. Is this correct?" So they know someone has used it |

We have had this ruling in place for a couple of years now, i done this with my sites 5 years ago with 18 here and 21 in the States.
If we pull out of Europe porn goes back into the dark ages again, its only the EU stopping the UK from completely blocking adult material.
All internet suppliers are ready to block on the outcome, again because of the UK's Victorian attitudes we based our site abroad many years ago as we saw this coming.
The government for now could only do a opt in policy on phones and some providers but anything adult could go including swinging sites too.
Google Sex and Censorship to read the disturbing facts of the police state we will become without once we leave the EU.
Proxy servers are in place so things will go as normal with some of us,all free tubes sites will go first as these not only pirate every ones material but also flaunt the card entry process.
It will be interesting to see how things evolve over the next few months in this so called FREE country lol. |

Especially since the 12 rating is only 'advisory' so the actual minimum age is governed by how much your kids pester you.
I'm sure it's healthier having teenage boys regularly seeing couples making love in films, rather than just the beating of brains out with baseball bats.

I agree it was more fun and profitable when it was illegal years back lol, i have been through the making illegal porn to making legal porn and going back to prime and proper days when it is illegal again.
I agree with a post on here that its healther for a teenager to see a couple making love rather than beating someone's head in but we voted this crazy government in.
I am already shooting softcore as it will have a bigger market...bring back the old Electric Blue style films lol. |

Cameron is ruled by his strong religious beliefs like Oliver Cromwell & look what he did to the country lol, no seriously they are on a mission to stop anything adult on the net Film/Pics/Audio so don't be surprised if we do get a no adult material block one day like China & India.

It will be impossible to implement it as there are no laws being broken.
Take illegal movie downloading as an example. Some of the world's biggest corporations can't stop people downloading illegally so what chance does the UK government have to make this work? |

Internet providers like AOL, BT, TALK TALK etc will go with whatever rules they are told.
If China & India can do this we can easily do the same, proxy servers can get over this but its getting the software to throw your ISP around so it can't be traced. |

For gambling sites you have to provide evidence of your age, scan driving licence or passport. No they can't prove it's really you I suppose, but it's a risk on they're behalf knowing that the person has access to said documents. |
