we are just gtting over a massive solar storm
tahst why if you listen to radio channels on medium wave such as talk sport etc there has been and still is a lot of inteference
it seems according to the scientists work in 11 year cycles so we are in a build up to a big one

That'll make it a definite then....because we all know that religious books are full of 'facts'. |

The end of the world happening at the end of 2012. Comes from the Mayan calender stopping in December that year....There could be alot of possibilities as to why they did not finish it and doesnt necessarily mean the end of the world |

Suspot activity is at it's peak this year so far as I understand. The Northern lights were meant to be visible in the Northumberland area at the back end of last month but as per ususual, we had shitty cloudy weather on the few nights that we could have seen them
It comes in 11 year cycles and can cause all manner of problems with radio transmissions. If your a radio ham it is usually quite good because the propogation is at its best at the peak of the 11year cycle and you can get contacts from much further afield than you normally would be able to achieve. |

the mayan calender refers to an alighnment of the planets that happens very rarely.. which will occur on 21st 2012...
The increased solar storms I dont think are anything really to worry about... but if they were then NASA wouldnt put anything on..
About the only thing worthy of noting from the film 2012 was the way the poles can shift and... the way the general public would not be made aware..
I am more worried about man made issues than things that affect the planet.. we seem to think that its all new.. but the planet has undergone radical changes throughout its lifetime.. We know the poles have shifted before, we know we have had asteroids hit.. we know that there have been huge solar storms hit the earth before..
Yes sometimes 70-90% of life on earth wiped out.. but really.. its so huge, its not even worth worrying about..
Says the woman that gets daily reports on earthquakes and uplift from yellowstone park and has considered stock piling useful stuff JUST in case 2012 happens.. :D lol Only because I read lots of science stuff.. and know something is going on.. but really they dont know what the affect will be on the alighments, or how bad the solar storms are going to get..
The science in 2012 is actually very possible.. and when you think of the mechanics of how our planet works its pretty amazing..
and to stay on doom and gloom.. Mayans were not the only people to predict a bad time in 2012.. I dont believe in predictions.. I do believe in science and that we can not control our environment no matter how much we think we can.

I'll be up in Scotland for 2 weeks during the Olympics to get away from it, itinerary not planned yet, however, I hope to go to the Highlands and to visit friends near Dundee. |
