"watching the news drones are used deliver drugs into prisons, how long will it be before some laws are passed for the use of drones"
There are already quite a few laws on drones.
Frisky bought me a small drone a few weeks ago. I'm thinking about getting a better one, once I have a few more hours under my belt... |

There already are
To fly any drone less than 20kg in weight (Small Unmanned Aircraft) for any purpose there are guidelines to follow, and you are given these at purchase. For surveillance there are tighter restrictions, & for commercial purposes you would need to be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority. |

The laws on drones( where/ what to fly, and also use of the camera) already exist, and are quite adequate;
But;
1. Hardly anyone actually knows them ( model aircraft enthusiasts have known them forever)
2. Must users could not give a shit to find out
3. No-one polices it ( until there is an accident or problem.) |

The USA now requires registration, so I can imagine that this will happen in the UK too: how much it will cost the public to manage it I do not know. It could be like dog licenses, where the cost of them didn't pay for the actual cost of the scheme.
I'm ok but don't like the idiots who come too close to my home with them. And I think police etc use should be much more controlled. |

I fly too.
Started with a 250 racer. Too quick for me so moved onto bigger slower stuff.
I have made a few aerial videos around the area that are on youtube.
My kit is older DJI that doesnt involve tapping a screen
Fixed wing fpv as well. |
