I have, according to emails received today, taken out both home and travel insurance with Sainsbury's Bank.
They thanked me for choosing them.
Thing us, I didn't
They chose me ... to be part of their software fuck up 
According to lady I spoke with 'every' Sainsbury's Bank customer has been affected by this glitch.
They are 'investigating'
Any other forumites taken out insurance policies with Sainsbury's today ?  |

Me neither.
I have a small loan from them, but once they have your name, you can have a whole variety of things you haven't asked for ...

as you state once they have your details you will get all services offered to you, i was in bnq saturday bought cement the cashier circled their website on receipt to comment on their service, when you do they have your email address then the spam |

I stupidly got a quote last week for my car insurance. I am sure I ticked that I don't want any other information as it's my standard practice but I'm getting a message a day. So far I don't think they've signed me up for any products but I may re-read the messages now to check.

Please note :
I am not complaining about spam.
I am well aware of the consequences of sharing your email address.
What I received were two seperate emails thanking me for taking out two financial (insurance) products with them.
I rang them to see whether or not this was some sort of scam.
I was told by two members of their customer services team that they were aware of the emails being sent out and that I had bought no such products from them.
They were investigating the problem.
Both advisors stated that it had affected the whole of their customer base so I can only assume that I am not the only one to have received those emails today.
