We survived yet again and relegated our neighbours (although funny is actually quite depressing as I want them up here)

It must be nice to celebrate something other than being less shite than 3 other teams in your league..

Reading - shite. Spent all our budget on a chelsea striker (loan) who is 5 foot 3 and then proceeded to lob long balls and crosses at him. Then the team acted confused that he didn't score in the league and we were looking more likely to get relegated than promoted.

Abysmal. I'm a Bolton fan. Relegated from the championship, only won 5 games all season, and nearly went into administration!

It seems we have neighbours who think it was because of them, conveniently forgetting the 30+ other games that did us in.

You'd think players would learn from others mistakes:

- Lambert: top player at Southampton, bench warmer at Liverpool. Now doesn't often start for west Brom.

- Benteke: top player at Aston Villa, not-so-super sub at Liverpool

- Ings...

You'd think that they'd learn that sometimes it's better to be a big fish in a small pond...

As a Spurs fan you could look on it as disappointing as we ultimately stumbled in our quest to catch Leicester but if we get a point at Newcastle and finish second then I'd say it's been a very successful season indeed. Would certainly have ripped your hand off if we'd been offered second before the season started.

Spurs have an awesome foundation for next year. I love Leicester but don't expect them to win next year, top 6 would be another epic achievement. Tottenham are genuine contenders next year and how many seasons could you say that?

Oh agreed, now that Poch has all but signed a new contract the future is very very bright and with a couple of decent signings in the summer I'm hopeful we can go on to better things. I know it's about money but I wish more players had pride in their profession and valued achievement on the pitch over their bank balance.

For the life of me, if you offered me £5m in the bank having played 700 games and scored 100 goals then I'd take that over £15m earned by sitting on a bench

Yeah I'd rather earn money on the bench than play for free. But what exactly can you buy with the extra millions that Liverpool pay that you can't afford on a Southampton salary?

But as someone said on another thread, the players wouldn't have had their phones out recording the bus incident if Sir Alex was in charge. He could keep a lid on the egos of good players. Now they are just a bunch of above average players not making the most of their natural talents, being overpaid bitches.

Unfortunately there are a few clubs (not necessarily top clubs) whose owners decide it is a quick way to make a buck rather than invest wisely. Usually to the detriment of the club involved

Really? Other than Arsenal, how many football clubs make any money. Most of them are just bottomless pits for billionaires change. Terrible 'businesses'.

Even if they are profitable, which most aren't, they are still small. Manchester United turns over £50m a year - big whoop. That's like a division of a FTSE 100 company.

That is exactly my point, business people who have no interest in football whatsoever come over here with their bag of money and try to appease the long standing fans. It ain't gonna work in the long term that's for sure.

West Ham fan, so personally, I'm delighted. Brilliant new manager, great signings, top six finish *fingers crossed* and the Olympic Stadium and European football to look forward to next year.

Should have been on course to finish top four but for the odd abyssmal result and some shit refereeing (eight points and an FA Cup semi final lost to crap decisions - video refs can't come soon enough)

In answer to the above quoted text, I think Man Utd are on course to turnover £500m this year, not £50m. Be the first British club to do so. Of course, they'll have to put a chunk of that towards coach repairs

COYI!!!!

Oldham Athletic had a roller coaster season new manager kelly zero experience sacked after seven games as clearly out of his depth David Dunn promoted and to be frank not much better 2 wins see us lying bottom five points adrift with 18 games left to play crowds dwindling horrible atmosphere .enter John Sheridan for a second spell and boy what a differance 9 wins and we are safe with three to play Finnish 17th one place higher than last year .looking forward to next season IF we can keep Sheridan .

Go and be a Blackpool fan watch your once proud club being slowly destroyed from within by a chairman who doesent care and enjoys the confrontation who takes fans to court for speaking out a on message boards who has away supporters removed for showing solidarity with fellow fans then you've got something to moan about ! "Even if they are profitable, which most aren't, they are still small. Manchester United turns over £50m a year - big whoop. That's like a division of a FTSE 100 company.

COYI!!!!"

Yes well spotted, I did mean £500m but it got auto corrected. I tried to see what the smallest turnover you needed to get on a big list but couldn't find one other than the top 40 uk companies all had turnovers the billions.

Mixed bag. Some brilliant performances, some woeful ones. Too many leads thrown away and errors in defending from the whole team. Not enough patience around the box at times to break solid defences down. Very happy with Klopp and looking forward to the Europa League Cup final

At least we will have finished in the top half of the table for a change. We have been consistently inconsistent.

At this point I have to admit to actually being Fab's version of David Mitchell when it comes to football knowledge. I just learned to blag it early on.

In fact, if you asked me to name 11 Chelsea players, it probably wouldn't be long before I was listing Ray Wilkins, Peter Bonetti and even Ian Britton (the only football sticker I have ever owned, 'cos no-one else wanted him)

{hangs head in shame}

You must have had a crystal ball.. as a team this afternoon derby deserted their fans when they needed to put a performance on its nothing new, we can argue about players in the wrong positions but I realise derby are not premiership level and never will be with performances like that I,m hurting at the moment as are probably all derby fans and thou hull city are premiership level when they play football you can feel straight away when derbys heads go down thats a sure sign the game is out of their hands has long as they get paid their wages their happy as any teams are but for millions of pounds spent this last season on players I,m wondering where the game has gone I used to enjoy the game at one time but those days are few and far between now days.

Up for sale, sold our best players and finished just below mid table, a complete malaise of a season was compounded by our new sponsors being legitimate loan sharks!

It'll stop hurting soon but in the mean time you keep all that rage, anger, hurt and disappointment bottled up inside and let it eat away at you knowing all mackems are just sitting back and laughing at you. Never mind you might get to play one of the big teams again in one of the cup competitions if you get past the second rounds first
