If we're discounting all the boy/girl bands and talking "proper" bands that write and play their own music there are a few that don't do anything for me:
Nickelback - just find them dull and predictable
Coldplay (with the exception of he first 2/3 albums) - ditto
There are a few genres (heavy metal being an example) I don't as a rule like either, so most bands within those would count too

U2, Oasis......both massively over rated.
Never been a massive Beatles fan but acknowledge their influence so fair play....to George Martin. Masses of some of the more recent artists....but maybe I'm just getting old lol! |

I'd agree..didn't used to be a fan until Ms G persuaded me to get tickets (as she loves them) a few years back...now seen them 4 times and they put on an awesome show |

I was the biggest chilli peppets on the planet i saw them in 1995 at manchester apollo and the were good(moby the support was better)then seen them 10 yrs later and wasnt impressed.i love their early 80s stuff

Radiohead, dull self indulgent whiney shit
Ocean Colour Scene, genre hoppng spoilt rich kids playing at being poor who managed to write one catchy riff

Rush, really just don't get them at all. They've one song.
Van Halen too. Their stuff, out with the singles, is so weak.
Simply Red. Again, listen to an album with headphones. So thin production wise.
Nirvana to a degree. Music needed something at that point and they fitted the loose bill.

Oasis - absolute, utter shit, and a pair of pretentious cunts who's utterly vile personalities made the whole joke even worse. There was lots of great music up until the mid 90s, then the absolute audial horror that was the brit pop era squirmed its way onto the scene, and music as a whole has never recovered. |

Radiohead, Thom Yorke is a proper pretentious arsehole who needs a full frontal lobotomy and a fucking smile. Blur and Muse fall in to the same category. Can't stand those bands who try to recreate their sound every new album, get over your sen. |

Whilst we can see how people might not like some of these bands, we find it hard to beleive many are on here.
For example, Sebb isn't a Smiths fan, but her can certainly appreciate someone elses taste for them.
Similarly, Ellen isn't crazy about ACDC, but she understands why others are so.
We think that some people are confusing bands they DISLIKE with bands they feel are OVER-RATED.
Such as the Beatles - over-rated.
Coldplay - we dislike.
Coldplay, Editors and Sctipt have this whiny singing style. They are the dictionary definition of corporate rock.
Although Radiohead are quite good. |
