I always thought this was interesting, actually. When I'm having sex with someone I can cum in various different positions. However, when I'm by myself I can only cum in one position, even my legs have to be in the same position. I always thought it was weird, but it sounds similar to what you're talking about.

I was once walking on The Downs in Bristol when I saw a man standing in a strange manner so as to attract my attention. As I stared at him, trying to work out what looked odd, he saw me and waved.
