The Grand tour.

As it is syndicated all over the world it will be filmed in front of a live audience in a different country every week

Love or hate him you got to admire his style and the way he is rubbing the BBC's establishments nose in the fact that they screwed themselves in their rush to give him the bums rush.

I reckon he's getting paid more than a grand.

Given how many chances he was given, I don't think it's fair to say the BBC rushed to sack him

Essex.

JC is getting £1 million an episode and the other two are getting £750k... So if it's a flop, which it won't be, they could afford to never work again...

I'm a bit of a Clarkson fan but he only has himself to blame for getting the boot from the Beeb.

Can't understand all the people saying they won't watch the new Top Gear as he is not in it, as if he cares about their misplaced allegence.

I'm really looking forward to the new Top Gear.

Funny how there were no contravention incidents involving TG prior to the BBC buying it from Clarkson but as soon BBC producers take over there is always trouble...

Now remind me what Chris Evens had to apologise for before the showing of the first new TG?

Of course you could be right and it may have all been Clarkson and Chris Evans may have discovered mind control and forced Mat LeBlanc into the car that did doughnuts on Whitehall.

he got a £14,000,000 payoff and is still on a percentage of TG profits. Nice work if you can get it

The challenges were always the best bits of TG for me especially in other countries.

Every episode being set in another country should make for great viewing.

Is Argentina on his tour list though?

Met the guy twice in real life thanks to work. I was on the in nice when old stig was fired off the ski jump and I was attached to the marines when he did the amphibious beach assault in a Ford Fiesta. I found him to be a genuinely nice guy who also happened to be amazingly funny and what surprised me was the second time I met him, even with my camouflage face paint on, he recognised and remembered me! Say what you will about his humour but he is someone that definitely acknowledges his fans in my opinion. Bearing in mind how many other journalists could turn their career into a world renowned to programme?

I think like everyone else it depends on the circumstances.

He certainly does not suffer fools gladly and blundering up to him when off duty expecting attention will probably get you told to fuck off but I've met him a good few times one way and another and he's always been a decent bloke.

Really?

Are you so obtuse that you cant see the direct parallel between the stunt the producers ordered LaBlanc to preform in the knowledge it would cause offence to some and those the same production staff ordered Clarkson to preform? And are you so blind and deaf that you could not see and hear the same pain of men forced to beg forgiveness for something they had no control over in public apologies of Clarkson and Evans?

Or maybe you think it is perfectly OK for managers to order those under them to do stuff and then have them given official warnings for doing that stuff?

Seriously fella, WTF is with the shitty attitude!

No ones been unpleasantly or particularly challenging toward you.

Now have read of the responce you gave and see if think you sound like a dick. Cos you do!

(Mods, I'm not being offensive and calling him a dick, I'm saying he sounds like one, and he does, doesn't he?)

As for this poor little bullied employee nonesense your touting, maybe you work in a role where management shout jump and you do and that's a shame but I'm guessing the dynamics between multi, multi millionaire presenters and the production staff that work alongside them are a little bit different.

No insult taken in my part. However I would say that you do eloquently make my underlying point. Which is what chance does someone like you or I have if an employer can so obviously manipulate opinion when they effect a celebrity multimillionaire?

Maybe rather than telling me I am a prick with a shitty attitude you would do better developing one of your own. Maybe if more people had my attitude to corruption rather than that of the person I first replied to we would not have the continual litany of business, police and political corruption.

Just my thoughts, and I take no offence when people disagree and think I should know my place. However I do reserve the right to let them know exactly how contemptible I find their servile attitudes.

Just to be clear if your boss now sacks you without good cause you need to have a spare £12,000 to take your case to an employment tribunal!

To be honest, while i do think he's a bit of a cock sometimes, I did used to enjoy top gear. I thought it got a bit stale and too staged the last few years so hoping clarksons new show will be a good kick up the bum for them.

I won't be watching top gear though as Chris Evans is a cock all the time.

Holy shit fella, how high is your fucking horse!!!!

So you being unpleasant toward someone in a forum is a bi product of your struggle against opressive management in industry?

I sure as hell don't need advice on what kind of attitude I should have from someone with the mother of all persecution complexes.

I've been in and around management my whole working life and if there's one truth to to management/employee relations it's this.

Employees with good attitude have good things happen to them.

Employees with shit attitudes gets shit on.

I'm guessing you've spent a lot of time getting shit on from great height.

I'm afraid you are very wrong about me getting shit on from a great hight.

If you go back and read the whole thread you will notice that I did not ask if a fellow poster was obtuse deaf and blind until he said he could not see a link between things we had seen Clarkson and the new pairing of Leblanc and Evans been made to do. If you need any help in seeing the parallels watch video of Clarkson mumbling the 'eeny meeny miny moe' script and his BBC forced public apology, then watch the scripted doughnuts on Whitehall and the public apology the BBC forced Evans to make.

Then ask yourself is it reasonable to believe that there is no common link between what you have seen? And if like me you see a link, what could it be?

My conclusion is the producers and by default the BBC top management. Just like the Hillsborough disaster was caused by police managers at Hillsborough and the top management of the police covered it up for 27 years. Just like the BBC and police SaVile cover up. Just like all the other police management sex cover ups. Just like all the NHS management cover ups. Just like the unfolding tax big business/super rich avoidance/evasion cover ups, stripping of pension funds.

So as far as my high horse goes I would ask why are so many willing to accept so much corruption on grounds like it been done to a multimillionaire, or their only Scousers, or they were in care, or well we could do what we liked with the money they paid into the pension fund...

You sound like a delusional conspiracy theorist and as is their want, have started throwing in numerous other topics rather than stick to the point in hand.

Do you have a tin foil hat each in your house or do you all sit in the sofa wearing one big one.

I don't think anyone tells Clarskon or Evans to do anything they don't want to do. We all make our own decisions and neither of them strike me as shrinking violets being swept along at the whim of some evil, all powerful and corrupt BBC genius with plans for world domination.

As for it £12'000 to go to an employment tribunal, that's just not true.

PS, I love chatting but would you be a sweetheart and if your gonna quote text, at least delete all the old and irrelevant stuff. It's just polite you know.

I believe Amazon's legal eagles put a stop to that one.

My suggestion was to call it:
