I have various versions of my CV but they are all accurate. The reason for the different versions is because I can work in different fields and I removed work experience that isn't relevant to the field I happen to be applying for. Removing irrelevant work experiences allows an employer to focus on the experience that is relevant and it allows me to have a bit more room to explain how awesome I was at those prior relevant workplaces.
I think it's just smart to tailor your CV for a job. But I would never include anything that isn't true. |

A fellow fabber once had an interview and she wasn't given the job based on her declaring that she didn't have PowerPoint presentation experience.
However, she knew how to do a PowerPoint presentation.
Personally I would have said that I was proficient in PowerPoint, instead of being honest..... After all its only selling yourself!! |

"Be very careful. As an employer, I have ways of checking the truthfulness of cv's. If I find a lie then they don't even get an interview. " point taken, ive worked for various companies, now if they no longer exist, and that is put on c/v how can you check, plus ones that have gone bankrupt

You can't and also if it has been 3 years or more, the employer don't (probably won't) provide a reference anyway. |
