Is there anything more pitiful on Fab than someone declaring via the forums they are going UNLOS?
These people are presumably hopeful that the community will beg them to stay, or that they will receive an epitaph of false platitudes that assures them they will be missed.
If you're going, do it in a dignified manner and just go. |

I remember someone leaving and they were posting within 5 days. Which as a profile needs to be a week old to post on the forums was pretty impressive forward planning |

My favourite leaving threads are the declarations of leaving for the brave new world of Vaniladom and then being back posting a couple of weeks later like they never left. |

This is a tad harsh , two popular forumites left last night.
Their parting messages were to sat goodbye to friends .
Both said they didn't post to get people begging them to stay.
They just wanted to say good bye and good luck to friends.
They will be missed by us all , there is nothing wrong with saying toodle pip |

id say goodbye - for two reasons - one to actually say goodbye to those forum buddies ive spent so many hours bantering with - and the other just to piss off those that dont like it  |

I was going to jump ship last night due to the poor quality of pRofiles and messages. Then over the next hour three people started taking to me. So now I'm UNLBUNLOS user No longer becoming UNLOS....
Does anyone know why my Samsung mobile puts capiTal letters in the middle of randDom words? |

If I ever go - which is bloody unlikely - I'll be saying goodbye to the many friends and acquaintances I've made on the forums before I go!
If you don't like it - tough titties friend! I'm also sad if I don't get chance to say goodbye to forum friends who leave - and I don't like it when people leave (99% of them anyway!) - so there! And yes - I know I'm a soft fecker!
Sorry fatswinger's left - I quite liked a lot of his posts!

Hadn't realised he left last night, he had a habit of starting threads that would be considered contentious and then seem to be aggrieved by people having an alternative view. His views were often thought provoking but not necessarily popular.

It doesn't have to be because someone is "popular" either. Some just notice someone hasn't been around a while and starts a thread asking where they are. The sad thing is when people use that thread to get nasty at the person who isn't there to respond to often false and nasty posts. |

I really really really really really don't care. I know for a fact no one would give even a second thought if i deleted. I find it all rather nauseating to be honest. It's just a website. I'd miss you. I'd miss your straight-talking.
I like the forums, not because of any individual, but because of the many varied voices that make them up, both old and new, regular and occasional. No-one is more important than anyone else, but everyone plays their own little part in making the forums what they are. I like the people who you know what they're going to say before they say it and the ones who come up with something totally off the wall.
It *is* 'just a website' but I still feel it's more impoverished by any voice that leaves, even the ones whose names I don't recognise.
But I might just be weird.

Just popped in quickly after a few days off and my friends list has a few notable UNLOS absentees. Sad times.
